He Wants Me Back
“A little welcome gift. You’ve been killing it today, and… well, I know how scary the first week can be.”
I opened the box slowly. Inside was a beautiful set of customized pens , sleek, gold-tipped, and engraved with my initials: L.M.
I was speechless.
“Thank you,” I whispered, touched. “This means a lot.”
Nora waved it off, but I could see the kindness in her eyes. “You’re going to be just fine here, Laura. I can feel it.”
After she left, I sat there for a moment, staring at the gift. A simple gesture , yet it lit something in me. A sense of belonging. Maybe I wasn’t as alone as I thought.
