“I know, but don’t judge it by its cover.” He opened the door for me and ushered me inside. The hostess led us to a booth nearby, smiled, and asked for our drink orders. I hadn’t even had a chance to look at the menu. “What’s the drink of the week?” David asked. “Crescent Brew,” she said and wiggled her eyebrows. “Perfect for couples and friends.” David grinned and me. “What do you think? Care for an adventure?” “Uh… What’s in it?”

One more customer and we were at the counter. "How can I help you?" The girl, who was wearing a nametag that said 'Katrina', looked at us, and I just grinned up at Taylor, who stepped up to the occasion. "I'd like a turkey club on white, grilled, and a cup of beef and barley soup please, and she'll have a pastrami on rye with only spicy mustard, with a cup of the tomato bisque. Two drinks." It didn’t take long for his car to arrive at its destination, and he still managed to find a parking spot. Upon entering the restaurant, he gave a wry smile because Leo wasn’t there. Because his “usual spot” these days was the one offering good food for inspiration on the new menu at his restaurant, not the one that only served bourbon and the like along with pretty girls.
