Mini nodded her head. "I believe you." She said, clearing her throat to probably get rid of the lip forming within, and nodded to the stairs. "We should go." She said. "They're probably waiting for us." Mini and I walked the rest of the way in silence. She led me to the gym she mentioned earlier, where Ollen and Sam were sparing. I stood by the door and watched the two me. Despite being blind, Ollen was not at a disadvantage, as one might think. He moves swiftly, blocks attacks from his beta, and throws his own punches. He barely missed the other man, hitting at every chance he got.

Even so, she was elated and hopeful of regaining her sight. Nevertheless, she did not dare let anyone else know apart from her aunt. Anyhow, she was like a blind person right now, not able to see. “Ms. Newman, how do you know there are other people in my store when you’re visually impaired?” Camryn laughed and replied, “When I entered your store, I heard their footsteps. The steady footsteps belong to the men whom I guess are your bodyguards.” Serenity and Jasmine exchanged glances. It was said that the blind had exceptional hearing, which turned out to be true.

Through me. I had stared back into her gray eyes that didn’t seem to look directly at mine. Instead, her eyes stared seemingly through me. Into a dark space. Spinning around, I had waved my hand in front of her face, only to see no response of any sort. That was when I realized—she was blind. My hand had still been waving in the air when Linda had abruptly grabbed my wrist, making me jump up in fright. ‘A war is brewing. You need to go. It’s too dangerous.’ Her lips quivered as she whispered. Her blind, empty silver eyes desperate. She was shaking and I had to grip onto her shoulder to help her maintain balance.

But I regained my composure, as they ran deep into the woods. As we kept marching forward, closely following the warriors' lead, I stole respective glances at Meghan, Kieran, Melinda, and Malik. Malik kept staring off into space, with a stoic expression, on his face. The warriors that were escorting us, might have probably figured out that he is blind, and it might be common knowledge amongst them, because the warrior that stopped the brawl, between Malik and Satoshi, might have spread the news about Malik's disability amongst them. Meghan was visibly exhausted. She was probably fed up with the long walk to the Alpha, but Kieran and Melinda were carried away by the overwhelming sights they w

Probably curious, probing, as if she was trying to get something out of me. My lips curved into a faint smile. The fact that she was looking all naive was something. I doubt she even realized that I am blind. How many months did I get myself into this? The stares, the questions that no one wanted to ask. But then, I had to brace myself because of people like her that are negligent. I had studied sensory substitution, even at my lowest. I wouldn't allow anyone to see that vulnerable side of me. No, Never. Dumbass Woman.

Why wasn’t he answering? As the men led me toward the guest quarters, I slipped into another passage. But before I made it far, the one-eyed brute caught me. His fist shot out like iron, catching me off guard. I fell and the world spun black. ~~~~~~ When the blindfold was yanked off, I sat in a dim room. Darius lounged across from me, cigarette smoke curling through the stale air. He blew a thick cloud into my face and laughed. “So this is the legendary Dark?”

His eyelids fluttered, and he started to mumble. “Charles?” I asked breathlessly. “Charles, it’s me. What’s going on?” He looked at me with unseeing eyes. I almost gasped when I realized what I’d done. “I can’t see,” Charles croaked. “I’m blind.” “FELIX!” I heard someone shout from behind me. I turned to see Mila running towards me, another woman at her side. I couldn’t tell who her companion was at this distance, but I’d know my wife anywhere. “Felix!”

She was still questioning the flare she saw in the girl’s eyes but then she once read about how perceptive blind people could get because of how their other senses had to work twice as hard to make of for the defaulting organ. The once raging red head retracted her claws and began to wear back her clothes. While at it Hannah still stood pitifully waiting for her to finish. “At least one of you is finally owing up to the obvious” she retorted as she was done composing herself. The sly snake was back. Despite the heavy air of superiority that was threatening to break her neck, Hannah couldn’t help but gasp at the meaning of her sentence. “Wait...he knows...you...you knew... but how—”

Right there, impossible to miss in the flickering glow of the firelight, was the prominent, rigid outline of his semi-hard length. He was aroused. A warm, electric shockwave shot straight from Avery's chest down to her toes. Her face burned with a heat so intense she thought she might actually combust. Her gaze darted back up to his face in sheer panic, her hands frozen mid-air. He’s blind. He doesn't know I can see... that, she thought frantically, her mind spinning out of control. Or does he? Damien stood perfectly still, his expression a mask of cool composure, but the slight tightening of his jaw and the rapid pulse in his neck betrayed him.
