The small green light on the front edge of the computer blinked once, twice, and then went completely dead. The bedroom fell into total darkness, save for the faint sliver of city light filtering through the crack in the window blinds. Cassian stood up from the desk, his knees popping slightly in the quiet room. He walked over to the bed, pulled back the duvet, and slid onto the cool mattress beside Noah.

She nods, “Turn down the lights, or I’ll be blinded.” Ash gets up and turns off the lights, there’s a soft glow from the sun setting outside, but little else. She closes her eyes, and then blinks a few times to clear her vision. She looks at him and he can’t help but be in awe of them.
