Her light blonde hair is now shades of pinks and purples with one little stripe of bright yellow. “Do you kike it? It’s my Barbie hair! She looks amazing and like a sight for sore eyes. “I love it, but..How?Why?” I blink the sleepiness away “I thought you couldn’t get here until Wednesday evening! How did you pull this off?”

Why the fuck were we still talking about hair? Julianna examined my hair, almost obsessively. “I swear you have streaks of blond in here.” I shrugged, amused by her total concentration but also a little irritated. My hair wasn’t exactly the most crucial thing needing her attention at the moment. “It’s possible, I guess. I was a towhead before I hit puberty.” Her eyebrows rose. “Really? So all this gorgeous lovely shit is natural?” “One hundred percent.” I sent her a lazy grin before nudging against her a little more lewdly to get her attention where I really wanted it. “You want to check and make sure? See if the drapes match the carpet?”

Our destinies had crossed in a not-so-apparent way, yet they were so tightly and closely interwoven. “So, you see Lyric, may I call you that?” I nod at her question, unable to speak because of my tears and clogged throat. “I recognize not only Zane’s scent in your pup but also mine, along with another. The child has a blonde streak in his hair,” She lifts her hand and pulls at the braided strands of blonde and black streaked hair over her shoulder.

“Did you always have a purple streak in your hair?” Richie turns and looks at me, gently turning my head so he can look. I watch as his eyes widen in surprise. “She’s right, Emlyn. You have a purple streak in your hair. It’s dark, like the color of the magic you were pulling on. It will be hard to see in your dark hair, but in the sunlight, you can see it.” I turn to look at Maeve. “What does that mean?” She shrugs. Xander coming to put an arm around her shoulders. “I think it means you’ve been touched by magic.”

All wrong. When I woke up this morning, I noticed it immediately—the dark brown strands had lightened somehow, showing hints of silver at the roots. Not gray from stress, but actual silver, like moonlight woven into hair. It had to be the dye job washing out. But it still freaked me out seeing it. I'd spent the last hour applying the dye Anna had procured for me, desperately trying to cover the strange new color. The brown was holding, mostly, but in certain light I could still see the silver trying to break through.

Annabelle suggested with a sly smile. I glanced at her, half-expecting her to laugh and take it back, but she only raised an eyebrow, daring me to go for it. The stylist nodded enthusiastically. “Blonde would be stunning on you. Something sleek and modern to bring out your features.” I hesitated, chewing on the inside of my cheek. Blonde was… drastic. But then again, why not? “Let’s do it,” I said, surprising even myself. Annabelle’s eyes widened as the stylist started sectioning my hair. “You’re really going blonde?” she asked, her tone teetering between genuine surprise and something else I couldn’t quite place.

"I'm thinking we need to go bolder. Let's do purple streaks this time." I wrap the cape around her neck and snap it in place. "I don't think that's such a good idea, Sue. Remember what happened when you decided to do blue streaks? You were calling me the next day to get what you called 'that damn Easter egg color' out of your hair." "I don't know," she says as she looks in the mirror, fluffing out her hair. "I don't think I took enough time to get used to it. I think I jumped the gun on that."

***** We walk in to library and find Stacy just where she was yesterday. She does look quite different with her hair becoming blonde but still white. Some kind of weird change though but I did ignore it. "Welcome back Alpha and Luna How was your night?" She asks showing courtesy. "Good. We came just like you said we should." Jay says. "Wonderful. " She gasps. "Stacey, why is your hair turning blonde?" I couldn't help but ask. The mixture of two colours on her hair is off and obviously she didn't try to use dye.

I looked at the spot he was touching; there were indeed a few barely noticeable streaks of blonde, almost white, woven through my dark hair. “So did I,” I replied softly, wondering how I could have missed such a strange detail about myself.

I winked, running a hand over my curls before throwing up the doors to the walk-in closet. “Where do you get your hair dyed? I always wanted to get streaks in my hair. Or just outright dye it to not be a blonde.” Persephone asked as I started pulling clothes off hangers. “Oh, I don’t. This is natural. Like how André has that blue streak, I have red streaks. No clue why. We just do. André says it’s because we are too fabulous to have normal hair. I think it’s more to do with being hybrids or half-breeds as some rudely call us.” I huffed, putting some outfits onto the bench at the end of the bed.
