“What about violet?” Nate blinks, caught off guard. “What about it?” Unwinding the strand of hair, she resumes her finger-drumming rhythm. “I’m thinking of coloring my hair violet. Think it’ll suit me?” Nate arches a brow, skepticism radiating off him. “Girl, it’s going to take a few sessions of bleach to strip all that darkness out of your hair. And that’s if your hair doesn’t fall out from the trauma.” “Celeste knows how to do hair recovery like a pro,” Ariah counters with a casual shrug, the hint of a smirk tugging at her lips. “It’s not a problem. Or… what about dark blue? Like a rich indigo?”

Tonya runs her hands through her hair, “My hair is black! I think I’m gonna try platinum!@ Jolene grunts, “What is with you and blonde hair?” Tonya argues, “There’s difference between blonde and platinum!” Jolene debates, “Oh yeah, And what might that be?” Tonya shakes her head in disbelief, “Blonde is borderline, yellow and platinum is more like a white.” Jolene jokes, “So you want white hair? Are you in love with an older man or something?” She laughs but Tonya doesn’t, “I’m not a man. I just think going with the exact opposite might throw people off and they won’t think I am who I am?”

“What the fuck did you do to your hair?” She flops into the chair with a huff. “I knew you’d hate it.” Reaching over, I run my fingers through the rough cut. A natural blonde like me, Heather has butchered her long locks into a terrible above-the-shoulders bob with streaks of black and red throughout. “It looks like a prison haircut.”

I ask with equal surprise. “There’s golden glitter in it,” she says in wonder. I touch a strand of azure blue in her hair and have a sudden thought. I quickly look around until I catch my reflection in a surface of water. My azure-blue hair now has golden glitter in it! Just like Yildiz’s skin. “What’s wrong?” she asks with concern. “Nothing’s wrong, it’s just, our hair has changed,” I inform her. “What? How?” she inquires. “Your hair now has streaks in it the same colour as mine, and my hair now has golden glitter in it, just like your skin,” I smile at her.

And then it begins. Her skin glows. Not just with the remnants of our marks, but with something new—shimmering like the moon poured itself into Elunara’s veins. Her hair lifts on the current, strands twisting and unraveling, deep brown giving way to pure silver streaked with white. It spreads slowly at first, starting from her scalp and moving outward like ink in water. Within moments, her hair is a river of moonlight cascading down her back and shoulders. I can’t breathe.

Before I could argue again, she floated back downstairs toward Kael, leaving me alone to get ready. I wasted no time. I took a quick shower before brushing my teeth and hair. Cora had thoughtfully left a few hair ties for me. I divided my thick strawberry-blond hair into two sections and braided each one into a Dutch braid that rested halfway down my back. I always called my hair strawberry blond, although it actually carried quite a bit of pink mixed with strands of gold. Honestly... My hair was the one thing I was vain about. After using Pack Ravencrest's shampoo and conditioner the night before, it already looked shinier and fuller.

I couldn't speak. “Yes,” He said, caressing my straight blonde hair. “I learnt that you're brunette but my Uncle forced you to go blonde. I want you to go back to your natural color and I got products to help with that especially since the excesssive bleaching has begun to cause some damage. If you prefer to stay blonde, then it's fine by me but I just want you to know, you don't have to be different anymore. You have the choice to be whatever you want.”

I can't seem to see a difference at first, but thanks to Heather talking to me one day, I saw that there is indeed difference about our hair color. My hair was naturally blonde until the roots while Rosine's blonde hair had streaks of black on the roots. From afar, you can't see a difference but if you look closely enough, then you can spot it. Rosine specifically don't want people to look closely at her hair, so she can stand at my level. "You're here Jean, and you Heather." "Oh, hi." Jean, as usual, stayed silent. I awkwardly let out a chuckle. It looks like Rosine prepared so much for this day. Looking at her attire, I wonder where she got the money to buy it. Or maybe it was from thrift

And the double, narrow, rhinestone chain shoulder strap that crossed at the back was shining as she was walking down towards me. Think of a light brown blonde and a light brown, in the middle space in between them - that shade of hair was hers. Lighter than a brunette and the darkest of the blonde family. Her dark blonde hair was slicked back, showing off her gorgeous face. The way her hair was cascading down her back was enough to call her the goddess.

Henry asked. I turned around so they could see my hair. Normally my hair is a deep fiery red. But now I have yellowish and orange streaks through it making it look like it is on fire. “ Oh Goddess.” Calissa gasped. “ I can see why you screamed.” Melissa said. “ Right. But how did this happen? It wasn’t like this when I went to sleep.” I asked. “ We have no idea.” Calissa said. “ Aiden, you need to get Lexi to Riverclaw. You need to talk to their elders. We will be right behind you.” Henry said. The next thing I know my hair is covered up with a scarf borrowed from Calissa and we are all running out the door.
