Before she could ask, Darian called from ahead. “We’ve reached it.” They stepped into another clearing, smaller, almost hidden. At its center lay a pool of water so still it mirrored the eclipse above perfectly. Around its edges, ancient stones formed a broken circle, each carved with runes like those Serenya had seen on the monolith. “This is it,” she breathed. “The heart of the Whispering Forest.” As if in answer, the water stirred though no wind touched it. Ataraxis asked as she pointed her sword at Welkin. The smile on Ataraxis's face disappeared as Welkin suddenly became serious. "I'm just kidding don't be so serious Wizard." Ataraxis said while laughing a bit as she put the sword back at the table. "Mister Welkin what does the world of Echor look like?" Yūgen asked suddenly. Welkin smiled at Yūgen and just ignored Ataraxis. Welkin began to talk about the colorful world of Echor. From the beautiful flowers and delicious food that only in Echor can find and about the kind elves, muggles and dwarves he met in his five hundred years of existence.

The sound of footsteps approaching from the other end of the room made me jerk in panic. “Please open up. Please!” Just when I thought I’d get caught, the door opened and a hand pulled me in as the door shut silently. The footsteps approached the door and continued until it was gone. I turned around to see a girl with pale snow-white hair. She was deathly thin and her skin was almost translucent by how pale it was. She looked like a ghost but her soft eyes were kind. “You can leave now.” She said, turning away. “Who are you?” I asked as I stared at the dark dusty room. The room was dark and empty except for a bed and several empty trays that had once carried food but now had dust and grime.

When I woke up again, I found myself lying in an unfamiliar room. The lights were off. Only the cold moonlight streaming through the window illuminated the blurry figure sitting beside the bed. It was Silas. He sat on the carpet with his back against the bedframe, looking strangely lonely. [Why isn't she awake yet? The pressure of the 'Sweetness' is so high that the past is literally spilling over into the present."

“How do you know how to read this? No one in the pack touches these books. They are locked away for a reason.” “I just do,” I said. My voice sounded different for a second. Clearer and steadier. “It is called Echo Binding. That is what is happening. Someone imprinted pieces of him into me. It is not random.
