The Viking's Mate Hunt
My head jerked to the side, to my shoulder, where the warm liquid hit.
It all happened so fast that I didn't even feel fear. Looking up, the truth hit me in the face hard. All the blood on the wolf's white fur: it was Amon's blood. Suddenly, it was so clear that he was hurt. The way he flew, sharp turns, short sudden drops, not gliding across the sky like he had done earlier. The blood poured down and colored the beautiful blue scales, so they looked like they were black. Like small streams down a wild mountain, the blood split into smaller rivers covering his scales, and when I looked down on myself this time, I could see my skin and clothes were already stained with a deep red color.
