A Second Chance: My Twin Mates
A flick of my wrist sent the fabric sliding aside, revealing the space hidden beneath, a place no one in the palace knew existed.
A low table stood in the center, its surface carved with runes older than the pack itself. Dried herbs hung from the ceiling, their scent thick and sharp. The remains of older rituals, wax, ash, and tiny bones, clung to the corners.
I took a deep breath, then pricked my finger with a silver pin. A drop of blood welled up and fell onto the runes. The carvings pulsed faintly, hungry for life.
“By the tether of the soul,” I whispered, tracing symbols into the air with my bloodied finger, “by the bond of the beast, show me their path. Show me where they lie.”
