“Thanks,” I take the blade from him, his fist bruised and dripping blood. “About what I said…”

“Right, I know. But still.”
We share an understanding nod and I look down at my dagger, examining the glass sphere containing Samael’s blood. I need to open it somehow, I don’t have my claws, and I can’t just smash it. I look around; the floor is stone, but it's old and cracked in places.
