The healer worked carefully, cleaning the wounds one by one. When he reached her side, he paused.
“There’s something embedded in her.” he said.
Using delicate instruments, he probed the wound slowly. Marcela screamed, her body arching, before slumping back weakly.
Then the healer pulled something out.
A claw.
Long and jagged. Dark as obsidian, with faint ridges running along its length. It looked unnatural, too sharp, too curved, like it wasn’t meant for this world.
