The storage room was dark. The hallway light poured in from behind Derrick, illuminating a large stain of dark red across the floor. It stretched from the doorway where he stood all the way to the corner of the room. I was slumped against the wall with my head tilted slightly to one side. A dried wound cut across my temple. The area around it had swollen into a massive purple bruise, so swollen that one of my eyes was nearly unrecognizable. Blood from my nose had run past my lips and chin, smearing across my cheeks and ears.

Explode. The canyon echoed with the rhythmic, deafening destruction of the ancient vanguard obliterating the front ranks of the nightmare. The valley floor was quickly covered in a thick layer of crushed gray gravel, the remnants of a hundred feral entities erased from existence in a matter of minutes. *Starblood Pack — Dungeon, Late Night* The Starblood dungeons smelled of rust. Water dripped steadily from somewhere deep in the tunnels, each drop echoing like a countdown in Lesley’s ears. Moonlight from the narrow slit of a window pooled faintly on the floor, a thin silver blade that mocked her captivity.

He stood and barked at the driver, “I’m sleeping at the office tonight. No one’s allowed to bother me.” Outside my door, the women who’d once flaunted themselves now stood stiff, eyes trained on me. I coughed up more blood. Reina scoffed. “Lily, Ryan’s already gone. You can stop putting on a show now.” I didn’t have the strength to speak. All I could do was take a deep breath, mouth filling with the taste of blood. Only I knew the truth. The whip and the bat earlier had knocked the broken stone deeper into my chest.

Blood sprays in thick arcs, painting the sterile walls, turning the corridor into a slaughterhouse. The place becomes a river of blood. It sloshes under my boots. I try to make sense of what I’m seeing through my hazy vision, but my body has lost too much blood and I can feel myself slipping away. My vision blurs with adrenaline and fear as I look back at Stacey, fierce and beautiful in her deadly grace. With a nod of understanding, I kick my legs out in a desperate move, knocking Felicity off balance, her screams filling the air as she stumbles towards the ground. I groan, barely able to keep my eyes open, that last jolt of energy fading away. In a blur of movement, I see Stacey plunge a blade into Felicity’s neck while her claws dig mercilessly into her chest. As Felicity falls to the ground, I catch snippets of Stacey’s words before she rips out he
