I reached into my pocket, pulled out a popsicle, and unwrapped it. Stick—sweet wasn’t really my thing. But lately, I've been buying them often. I slipped it into my mouth and began licking, trying to focus on its taste, instead of Zane’s presence. “Is that a popsicle?” He asked. I glanced at him. “Isn’t it obvious?” Zane smiled—his signature faint, slant smile. “I can’t remember the last time I had one.” I pulled the popsicle so I could speak. “You want?”

The thing that had caught her attention was a game stand. "All you gotta do is break this pinata and win the prize of your choice~! It's just that simple, folks! So hurry up and line up to win your special someone a prize of their choice," the man explained just as the group saw a guy throwing a small ball, that to Maria resembled a softball, towards the large pink heart pinata.

There was a long table with different food and snacks just by the flowers. There was a barbecue stand close to the table. There was a stool close to the barbecue stand with a big blue bowl of ice and drinks including some bottles of nonalcoholic wine. Just opposite the pool were beds and umbrellas just in case the sun got hotter. In the pool, there are huge balloons for playing. I can't wait for Mari to come over. I plan to tell Eliza about my matchmaking. She has to help me. I entered inside and showered but still sat down to wait for Will to get back with the girls.

Several balloons on the cork board had been popped already. “It’ll be twenty for four darts. You got to pop three balloons for a small prize.” The pimple-faced boy running the booth said. He looked me up and down, his eyes lingering on my chest. I assume he liked what he saw because he flashed me a grin that was mostly braces. I harrumphed, “Well, that’s a rip-off.” Lifting a hand, I conjured a small blade out of thin air. The boy’s jaw dropped and a squawk of surprise left him. I dragged it across the meaty part of my palm, hissing through my teeth as blood pooled in my hand.

There were concession stands of cotton candy, pizza, fried dough, pretzels, ice cream, lemonade, loads of candy, and these tiny little lollipops I had never seen before. Game stands were set up with darts and bottles and ring toss and all sorts of prizes ranging from massive stuffed animals to tiny little keychains and rubber bracelets. The pier was buzzing with activity, families of the Aperture pack and visitors alike taking it all in and enjoying the carefree time together. “This… we have nothing like this in Texas.” I was in awe. Perrin just smiled and tugged my hand again, leading me onto the pier and to the first booth. “You have to try this one.”

Cameron asked. "Anywhere, I just wanna go out with you" Rose smiled and he just chuckled. "Come on then, let's go" Rose muttered and dragged him to the car. She drove out of the shop and they came across a barbecue stand. "Let's have some of that" Rose said and stopped in front of the stand. They both got down from the car and walked to the man who was the seller. "How much is one of these?" Rose asked. "Three dollars" The man replied.

That scared me. “Open your mouth, Princess,” he said, my eyes moving away from the mirror. Something cold dripped on my bottom lip and I licked it, humming at the sweet taste of vanilla. My eyes widened when I saw it was the popsicle. “You are going to suck this for me, Princess. I am going to make you practice on this popsicle and if you behave like a good girl, I will reward you, hm?” I nodded blindly, looking at the popsicle. It was tapered at the front and straight from there, but it was girthy. I shifted on my knees, wondering why the hell a popsicle was making me hot.
