The house was warm. Elara led the way upstairs. Children had a way of falling asleep at the most unexpected moments. Elara looked back briefly, her expression softening at the sight. I followed behind when we reached Blue’s room, the room was bathed in the warm glow of a bedside lamp. Toys sat neatly arranged on shelves. Children’s drawings decorated the walls. A collection of stuffed animals occupied one side of the bed as though standing guard. Everything about the room reflected Blue’s bright personality. For a moment, I simply stood there taking it all in.

” Claire explained, easing my nerves a bit. I grabbed her packed clothes and sighed in relief, noticing my comfy, fluffy pajamas and cotton underwear set. I gathered everything and asked for a way to the bathroom. Claire gestured for a door on the left side of Leon’s bed. The door was almost invisible because the eyes were focused only on the beeping monitors in the center.

I allow my mind to wander and find myself dreaming of green eyes and blue pools. I feel my skin crawl from someone watching me and I open my eyes. The room is still empty, the bubbles are still there, but the water is barely warm. I quickly rinse and get out, wrapping myself in a plush bathrobe, my hair falling freely to dry. I saw the small plush dusty blue loveseat and, plopped down on it, looking over the room once more. The walls are made of the same strange cream stone, and the bed is now made and has fluffy white sheets with a dusty blue throw blanket that looks like a wolf’s fur. “You could have warned me!“ Snapped Jamie. “Then, it would not have been as effective then, would it?“ said Fluff simply. “Urgh!” Said Jamie. It was then she took in her surroundings. She was in a huge room that had egg blue wallpaper with birds of different colours. She was in a super king-sized four-poster bed made out of oak. The mattress and pillows were made out of feathers. The sheets were clearly expensive and made of silk. They were a pretty shade of light green, that matched the nightdress she had on. There was also an ornately carved trunk at the bottom of her bed and the room had an equally ornately carved wardrobe. The set was completed with a dressing table and a mirror.

Zenith’s triumphant look flashed across my mind and my mood soured just a bit. But not for long as my attention was caught by the opening of a door and I gasped as we entered Clyde’s room. It was minimally decorated but grand. The four-poster wooden bed with beautiful grayish-blue drapes and matching bedsheets did not look ordinary at all. The curtains were drawn and they were in shades of blue as well. A chest of drawers and a huge closet were among other things in the room. There was only one painting above the chest of drawers and apart from that the other walls were bare.

A small peek can’t hurt. I step inside and peer around the massive bedroom. Part of me expects it to be all dark reds, like Piacere, and that part is disappointed. The walls are a deep, dusty blue, and the huge bed in the middle has a simple gray comforter. I take a few steps closer and touch the mattress. Another surprise. The intense boss sleeps in plush comfort, not a hard board to keep him sharp. The soft leather shackles on the four posters of the frame turn my stomach, and I pray everyone he’s had in those agreed to be there.
