I Married the Devil to Kill My Own Family

I Married the Devil to Kill My Own Family

Retreating into shadow. Click. A faint sound. Barely audible. The blood vessel along the side of his neck finally ruptured. Dark blood slid downward. And beneath his collar— something began growing. Golden-black vines. Twisting. Spreading. Crawling upward across his throat. Toward a face already consumed by murderous intent.

Mated to the Alpha King

Mated to the Alpha King

“Longer, but worse since yesterday.” “Take her wrist,” Jorin tells King Ardon. “Hold it, not tight.” He rolls back my sleeve. His fingers find the tendons along my forearm. He presses along the veins like he’s reading a list under the skin. He lifts my eyelid and checks the whites and then he puts two fingers against the side of my throat and counts under his breath. “Tongue,” he says. I open my mouth. He peers in and nods once, then unscrews a small bottle from his kit. The smell of mint and bitter root lifts off it. He places a few drops under my tongue and holds my jaw shut with careful pressure.

A Taste of My Alpha

A Taste of My Alpha

And I think they failed to even do justice to it. My throat went dry as I tried to ignore the nagging hotness in the air but my traitor gaze just moved lower from his abs down to his ‘thing’ and my heart did a fast flutter. Long, thick, bluish-green veins bulging through the smooth skin and… I quickly averted my gaze but the damn damage was already done. I closed my eyes and tried to forget but it only heightened the image in my mind even more, making me shiver. “What the fuck is wrong with you?!” he snapped at me.

Blood beneath the ice

Blood beneath the ice

"Come on, Harlan. We are on the same team. If something is wrong with you, I need to know. Is it drugs? Some kind of medical condition?" Kane let out a short laugh with no humor in it. "Not drugs. Not a condition. Just leave me alone." "You almost shifted or something on the ice," Elias pressed, voice low. "I saw claws starting to come out. Do not tell me that was nothing." Kane stepped around him. "You are imagining things, Voss. Game is over. Go celebrate with the guys." Elias followed him toward the door. "I know what I saw. Your ribs right now. Let me see how they look."

MATED TO THE ENEMY ALPHA

MATED TO THE ENEMY ALPHA

My breathing grows heavier as the images reappear. Aerin’s hands on her waist. His mouth near her ear. My vision flashes gold. A low growl tears from my throat before I can stop it. Then my back burns. “Ahh!” I staggered to my feet and ripped my shirt off turning to the large mirror. Black veins have spread from where the Hollowed Vale vine had pierced me when Elara was pulling me out. I touched it and it pulsed. The edges look darker and thicker now. “What is this?” I whispered as I looked at the thing beneath my skin pushing outward.

She finished. "What do you mean by a comprehensive check?" I queried. " I need to check every inch of her skin, for signs of a puncture. If it is what I think it is, then the puncture would have black veins running from it, by now. The black veins would be as tiny as threads for a needle and not as visible as normal black veins should be. Because this is the early stages." She explained. " What do you think this is?" " I think it's a blood enchantment."

I'm reading this book and so far so good!! It has great potential, up to this point which is chapter 37, I'm enjoying the book. It also look as if the main character are going to have more interactions with each other, so things are about to heat up. Great job so far author!!

So far so good, good story flow so far keeps me in the edge. What I don’t like though are the POVs that just a repetition of the scenarios. I have to scroll past it as it’s just fillers. Since it is still incomplete, I will have to put off reading this until then.

Then it pulsed. Thin lines branching outward from a central point beneath her flesh. Veins of shadow spreads slowly, faintly glowing red beneath her skin. That had not been there before. I stepped closer. “What is that?” I demanded. The doctor barely glanced at it. “Subdermal hemorrhaging. Possibly a vascular reaction to trauma.” “It was not there,” I said sharply. He leaned closer this time, frowning. One of the nurses angled a brighter light toward her arm. The dark marking reacted, It shifted. Spreading slightly higher.

Bound by the Alpha's Contract

Bound by the Alpha's Contract

Nicole hesitated, then nodded and slipped out. I stood on shaky legs and walked to the mirror. What I saw made my hands tremble more. My wrist curled into a fist. A black vein. It was thin as a spider's thread and crept up from my collarbone toward my neck. What is that? I touched it, expecting heat, but it was cold. I didn't know what it was. I couldn't understand it. But fear crawled up my spine as I stared. I need to hide this. This is too strange.

The Forgotten Luna

The Forgotten Luna

Almost gently. * * * Caelan was at his desk. Not working — papers pushed aside. Sitting with his face in his hands, shirt open at the collar, the way a shirt opened when a man had stopped thinking about what he looked like. So I saw them. The veins. Black, fine as thread, spreading in a branching pattern from the centre of his chest — not like bruising, like something drawn with intention. They crossed his sternum, reached toward his ribs, and one branch climbed the left side of his throat and stopped, for now, at his collarbone.

His Mate, His Enemy

He looks up as I enter, his expression guarded but there’s something else beneath it now. Something unsettled. “You said this was urgent,” he says. “It is.” I don’t move further into the room immediately. I just… look at him. And the moment I do my breath catches. There, clear as daylight. Black veins. They spider out from his chest, branching across his skin beneath his shirt like cracks spreading through glass. They pulse faintly, alive with something dark, something wrong, radiating outward from his heart. For a second, I can’t move because this...
