Blue is sleeping peacefully against his chest. The image felt strangely complete, but all at once. Together, we walked upstairs. I opened Blue's bedroom door while Adrian carried her inside. The room was dimly lit by a small lamp beside her bed. Gently, he laid her down. Blue stirred slightly. "Daddy?" Her sleepy voice was barely audible. "I'm here." A small smile appeared on her face, then she drifted back to sleep. I pulled the blanket over her for a few seconds; neither Adrian nor I moved. We simply stood there watching the little girl who had somehow changed both our lives forever.
