Owen and Ari, Ant and his mystery girl, and then there's me and Leia. It's kind of funny, but not really. More like infuriatingly funny. Suddenly, my phone buzzes in my pocket. I fish it out and see a message from Athena. The text is more of a demand than a question, asking if I want to meet up. Athena is now a transfer student, so I figure I should probably go. Though, deep down, I know she'd track me down even if I didn't show. She's nice to girls, but to guys, she's basically evil.

She winked at him. "Mommy, why are Camilla and Ana not here yet?" she asked as she yawned. "They will be here, sweetie." She reached for her head. Gabriel walked around to the space beside Athena and kissed her forehead. Athena was a daddy's girl, so even though she argued with him sometimes, she would act cute like Sabrina always did. Like now, they had a fight just a while ago, and the two were now cuddling with each other and now playing on the iPod.

He asked the principal to excuse us, and when she left, the silence was so thick that it could be cut with a knife. "I understand that as Alpha, your hands are full," Dad said, still maintaining his calm tone and smile, "but our children have taken a liking to each other and share a precious bond. I hear that Athena believes the bond cannot work. We know how important and strong a mate bond can be. I would love things to work out between Cameron and your daughter." I stared at Athena's dad, watching his reaction. The man was tall, and Athena looked nothing like him, but Caleb was his spitting replica except for their body structure. He seemed like a very powerful and domineering person.

Athena replied, smiling, which he returned before grabbing her phone and running away. He has his own, but he enjoys aggravating her by stealing hers, and she always falls for it. I laughed as I watched her chase him trying to get her phone back. "Austin, stop acting like a child and give her her phone back," I replied, laughing at Athena's lovely pout; she always makes me smile even when she doesn't do anything. She is a bundle of adorableness. We walked into the homeroom and took our usual seats, Dylan and his friends were glaring at us, especially Athena, for the past few weeks they have stayed out of our radar for two reasons.

When the doctor asked if she remembered anything, she had to lie because she didn't know if she could trust them. She remembered everything, from when she climbed up to the roof, the argument between her and Dylan, and him pushing her off the roof when things got physical. A frown formed on her face as she remembered her dream. Her promise to get revenge played in her head, those who hurt her were going to pay dearly; she was going to make them all beg for mercy.

Giving me a forced grin, he said firmly,” I love you, Athena Blackstone, and want you to become the best version of yourself.” Creasing my brow, I punched his shoulder and growled, “I have chosen you, you big oaf, and would have regardless.” Smiling at me he pecked my cheek and announced that we were heading out now. “Let me tell the pups goodbye first," I muttered and rushed to the living room where Anton was holding Remy.

With that, he bent down, gathered the shopping bag and the remaining potato chips from the floor, then straightened. “It was not nice seeing you,” he said to Dexter. “Same here,” Dexter replied without hesitation. The two men held each other’s gaze for another brief moment. Neither looked willing to give the other the satisfaction of backing down. Finally…Blake walked back to Athena and slipped one protective arm around her shoulders. “Come on.”He gently guided her toward the exit. As they walked away, he leaned closer and whispered, “Head down.” Athena let out a tiny snort.“As if I planned on doing anything else.”

All of our eyes widened at Cameron's next words. “Athena is shifting!”
