The black SUV came to a slow stop on the gravel driveway, dust curling up in the early evening air. Adrian watched from his bedroom window, one leg tucked under him, the other bare and stretched toward the glass, his phone forgotten in his lap. His lips curled. The new bodyguard had arrived. The fourth in six months.
He rose slowly, letting the robe slip lower on his shoulder as he made his way downstairs. He didn’t care who his father had sent this time. They all left eventually, tired of being babysitters or tempted by things they shouldn’t want.
