When the last piece rose from the pale floor, the skeleton stood nearly seven feet tall, lean and terrible, a crown made from jagged ivory twisting above an empty skull.

I welcomed it—it proved I was alive. Alive, and not done yet. The Bone Seer raised her staff, bone fragments swirling in a storm around her.
