“I just want the wedding to go smoothly,” he said, smiling politely, and she nodded.
After saying goodbye, Fatima got into the car. Bonnie had already buckled Wave into his seat. She smiled at that.
“Mama, my play is tomorrow,” Bonnie said brightly. “You and Papa are coming, right?”
“Of course, baby,” Fatima said, reaching back to wipe the yoghurt from her daughter’s mouth.
“Uncle Ryan gave us yoghurt,” Bonnie said, shifting to so her mother wouldn't struggle to clean her mouth. Then she looked up innocently. “Mama… why did Aunt Leslie kiss Daddy on the lips?”
