Jay replied softly. People passing by couldn’t help but notice the two of them—how easily they fit into each other’s presence, how their hands found each other, how their eyes locked like they had their own secret language. She’s glad that her grandma didn’t leave their side when they hopelessly went to her for help. Valeriana recalled that when she was only five years old her mom had told her that her (Valeriana) granny wasn’t that fond of her father. In Fact she used to dislike him very much. Grandma was against their marriage but Valeriana’s mother used to love Valeriana’s father very much so she ran away with him and married him. After that Valeriana’s grandma was really mad at her (Josephine) because of this. She even told her that she doesn’t even want to see Josephine’s face.

Giving me plenty of distance when I wish she wouldn't. We sit like that in silence for a while. Her laying on her stomach at the foot of my bed, me sitting against my headboard. Her brows draw closer together as she flips pages, clearly intrigued by the book she picked. It's one of the few romance novel type books that I have. It was an impulse buy based on the cover a few months ago, and I haven't gotten around to reading it yet. 20 minutes pass, and I have maybe turned 3 pages while Shea has become sucked into whatever she's reading, turning pages faster and faster.

He was about to take off his shirt when I acted. "Evan, wait!" He turned to me breathlessly. My chest was heaving rapidly and my whole body panic stricken. What was I doing? Evan stared at me in confusion. "Not here," I stated. "Right," he chuckled. "Well, maybe it's about time you gave me the house tour to your bedroom?" His enthusiasm and smiles were charming. I would say hard to resist but that would be going too far because what I was feeling was only my body reacting to his touch and actions around me. I didn't even realize that I had so many love languages until that moment.
