Floaters

Floaters

George grunted agreement. “This is what comes of man pursuing mammon and turning his back on God,” the captain continued in a voice raspy from gin that nevertheless resonated with conviction and experience, as if he’d lived through famine and plague and knew a thing or two about calamity and human weakness. His watery blue eyes, set in the permanent squint of men who make their living on the water, twinkled, letting the younger man know he wasn’t entirely serious. “Behold,” he said, “with a great plague will the Lord smite thy people, and thy children, and thy wives, and all thy goods and a catastrophe that could strike a city. The sword is without, and the pestilence and the famine within!”

The Lycan King's Hybrid Bitch Queen

The Lycan King's Hybrid Bitch Queen

I yelled in frustration, kicking the door as I moved back a couple paces. It didn’t matter what I did. I was locked in. Somehow in the time, Hunt had ordered his guards to drag me away like a criminal; he’d also ordered them to lock me up as well. “Calm down.” My wolf pressed urgently. “We have to deal with the plague first.“ Despite my steaming, I knew that was the most important thing. In my past life, the rose plague had spread so quickly, it was termed the great killer. And now, an infected man was within the palace walls.

The Chosen One

The Chosen One

Cornelius muttered, “Dawar, this had better be important as you can see we are busy.” “Apology, Cornelius but your brother,” announced Dawar. “He has the plague. He is sick to the bone.” Cornelius and Darwin acquired a discharge to go home. As they ran through the thoroughfares, they skipped scrambling rats that brought the plague to their village. They heard cries and screams of stricken dwellers throughout the borough.

Rejected By My Mate, Claimed By Lycan Quadruplets

“What do you mean a plague? Be precise.” Atlas swallowed hard, his hands shaking slightly as he gestured helplessly. “It starts with fever, then the body weakens rapidly. Wolves can’t shift—some die within days. Healers are overwhelmed. Alpha, it’s moving faster than anyone can control. If it reaches the core packs, it won’t just cripple us—it could wipe us out.” The words dropped into the room like stones into water, sending ripples of dread through the silence that followed. I clenched my jaw. A plague? Now? As if we didn’t already have enough weighing on us.

How many chapters will this book have I have already spent $40.00 and that could have bought a whole novel. The book is good but it doesn’t need to carry on forever!!! What is the last chapter? I wouldn’t have started reading it had I known it wasn’t complete. This disappoints me greatly!!!

I would like to give my opinion on when his eyes open…… the book is great to read, but I feel like I pay to read that’s okay, but now it’s like the chapters is getting shorter, I don’t want to start on another story when I did not finish the first one. Please let me finish reading this book.

The Sound Of Ruin

The Sound Of Ruin

“I walked fields when the air still stank of ash from Carthage burning. I crossed seas on ships stitched with hide before your world had sails worth the name. I bled at Thermopylae, though I wasn’t Spartan. I watched Rome devour itself and laughed while emperors choked on their own rot.” My breath caught. He said it like someone listing cities he’d vacationed in. Casual. I could hear the rattle of the motel air unit and still believe every word. “And when plague came?” he went on, voice lower. “I fed. Entire streets abandoned to black boils and swollen tongues. No one looked twice at another body carried out. Mortals thought it was disease that emptied their homes. They never knew how much w

DEFYING FATE

DEFYING FATE

They followed a trail above the hills where the human settlement was clear in their views. Looking down at the crowded conditions of the village, Sage narrated how famine and plague were rampant in this era. The crowded village was filthy, and the unkempt surroundings allowed the deadly disease to spread easily. People who wanted to enter the village during the plague were forced to remain outside the gates for several days until it was clear that they had no symptoms of the infection. This predicament depicts the horror of the plague. The living can barely cope with the demands of caring for the sick and burying the dead; it was mayhem. Death was everywhere.

Queen Luna: Once Rejected, Now Ruthless

Queen Luna: Once Rejected, Now Ruthless

“A magical plague. It spread after you were… taken. It swept through the city faster than healers could react.” The number pressed into me like a blade between the ribs. My kingdom — my people — reduced to a fraction of what they’d been. Faces I remembered flickered in my mind. Children in the palace gardens. Merchants who’d slipped me candied nuts. The old woman with the blind cat who always sat by the fountain. Gone. The sickness wasn’t just in the air. It was in the cobblestones, in the peeling paint, in the broken shutters banging weakly against empty windows. The plague had hollowed the city out, leaving nothing but bones.

The Billionaire Alpha's Revenge

The Billionaire Alpha's Revenge

"That is how you know it works." Margaret lifted her hand again. The Cage Files opened. The room filled with lives. Not memories alone. Cases. A Miller woman in the seventeenth century locking a plague god beneath a church and being praised as saint only after her name was removed from her children. A boy in a desert city swallowing a sun-chain so Ra's priests could keep dawn profitable. Twins beneath an ice shelf agreeing one would remember pain and one would remember love, then being separated because together they could refuse. A father kneeling before a wolf altar while his daughter screamed for him not to volunteer. A husband choosing to become a door because his wife was told the world
