Far in its bones, this house was alive. I found the study two doors down. Unlocked. There were floor-to-ceiling books along the walls inside. A glass tray had a half-full decanter of amber whiskey. The fireplace was cold but there was still the scent of burnt cedar in the air. I ran my fingers along a row of spines, titles in Latin, philosophy, eroticism, war. Cole brings it to me, sitting back down on the couch while the kids roll around with their toys on the rug in front of us. Good Lord, I couldn't get enough of it. Strolling through his penthouse, I couldn't resist the urge to snoop around a bit. Grabbing a book off the shelf, I flipped through the pages casually, only to let out an embarrassing squeal when I stumbled upon a gun tucked inside. Well, that escalated quickly. Closing the book with a quick snap, I replaced it on the shelf, making a mental note to stick to more conventional hiding spots in the future.

Scooping her up, I carried her straight to the bedroom. After an intimate moment, Nydia fell asleep. I kissed her cheek and quietly left the room. She slowly steps inside, no trace of Merfoy even his shadow. “Hello? Merfoy? Why is it so dark in here?” she said lowering her voice. She suddenly heard a loud thud in the right corner, it was from the bookshelf. It was so dark that she can’t see a single thing. She step into a book and picked it up. “Is this Merfoy’s magic book?” she thought as she opened it, it suddenly produced a light that struck her eyes and lit the corner where she is standing. The pages moved on their own as it suddenly stops, she read what was written on the page.
