I scanned the shelves, my eyes tracing the titles and covers in search of the perfect book to momentarily distract me from the reality of my mother's illness. A vibrant book cover caught my attention, a beautiful couple locked in a passionate embrace against a backdrop of rolling hills and a setting sun. "Love's Everlasting Promise" was emblazoned across the top in elegant script. I knew, in that moment, that this was the book that would temporarily fill the void in my heart.

They should be in climate-controlled areas, not just thrown in the daily mail and shipped across the country. “Not sure what these are,” I say, picking up a few dark volumes. “And they’re covered in dust.” I blow off the cover, trying to dislodge the grime. “And no titles. Lovely.” I put them to the side, hoping to make most of our progress on the easily-categorized ones and then revisiting. “No title?” Ben asks, curiously, coming to look over my shoulder. “What about on the spine? Inside cover?” I pick one back up and scan the side. “It’s disgusting. We should clean it.” But I open a cover anyway, squinting at the small print. “A…. J… Nie-lan? Nillan?”

Artemisia had briefly forgotten that that day wasn't normal, she's starting to realize, and think, that maybe she's not the one who's going crazy. The girl approached the shelves and Helga's voice danced again in her mind. "The navy blue cover book will tell you a story, I can't tell you which one, only the book is entitled to that." Artemisia didn't understand, but soon found the book near the second door. It was a heavy book, but not as thick as expected. It had a glow reminiscent of sunbeams touching the greenish water of a river or lake. It also had nymphs drawn on the cover and side of the leaves.

Sounds good. Wish I could join you.... Then I get a quick shot of the cover. What on earth's she reading? Tipping back her book to see the jacket, it's a bright splash of cartoon figures against a gentian blue sky. Smiley faced men and women frolic with a dog in front of a kids' classic 'first house drawing': a square box, with a triangle of a roof and a window in each corner. I peer at the blurb on the back.... "A few weeks ago, it was finite element analysis and Fourier series. Now you're reading chick-lit?"

I cough when it raises a puff of dust into the air on its way. “I gave you all the ones with more pictures,” Roger murmurs, closing his book and reaching for his next as well. “Wanted to make it easy on you.” My mouth drops open in a little outrage at his implication there but then I see the upturned corner of his lip. “Liar,” I say, smiling down at my book as I open the cover. The title page reads A Complete History of the Cults of the Dark God, 1862. “You just didn’t want to get your hands and clothes dusty touching all these old ones.” Passively, I gesture to my clothes – which are indeed covered in a light layer of grey library dust.

Permit me to say this but I don't think I will regret staying here…. The book clearly covered my face as I tried to find my way through an empty desk. Florida could only laugh at my silly attitude. She just won't understand so I laughed along with her. Dropping down the books, I heaved in relief. "Fifty Shades Of Grey," I read out, caressing the book cover. I'm definitely reading all these. "Shannara Chronicles," “Game of thrones,” "Beautiful Disaster," "wow…..this is really amazing," I exclaimed, reading the title of each book I grabbed.

Cassius said with a smirk, likely mistaking my gaze on the bookshelves as me restraining myself from browsing them. Despite not feeling as enthusiastic as he assumed, I still went for the books. I let my hands trail across the spine of the books, stopping on the thickest one. I carefully pulled it out, afraid to even scratch the cover. “That’s the novel section of the books. There’s really no title on the cover because it’s printed on the first page,” Cassius explained from his bean bag. I nodded at his explanation and opened the book. My heart nearly dropped upon reading the title. Was this just a coincidence? Written in an elegant font was ‘The Second Time Around: Chronicles of Ava Midgen’

The cover was adorned with intricate, silver runes that shimmered in the light, and the pages were filled with stories, poems, and songs that Kie had collected from our adventures together. The book was titled "Whispers of the Stars," and it was a testament to the special bond between us. As I opened the book, the pages revealed memories, laughter, and tears we had shared, all woven into a tapestry of words that spoke directly to my heart. "Thank you, love, I love it!" I said kissing him too.

“You and your ridiculous titles. I have a name, you know? It's Olivia, not Luna. I wonder if you wolves hear yourself sometimes. Luna this, Alpha that. It’s obnoxious.” He leans closer, green eyes catching mine, voice dropping low. “If you’d like, you can just call me yours. That title would sound better on your lips anyway.” My lips twitch despite myself, and I groan, dragging the blanket over my face to hide it. “You are a complete idiot.” His hand tugs the fabric down just enough for him to see me, his mouth inches from mine, his breath warm against my skin. “But yet,” he whispers, “you can’t stop wanting me.”

So, I pull out a book named “Princess Aria” It’s not a very catchy title, but the cover looks pretty cool. There is a beautiful, slim woman on the cover, and she is holding out her hand towards a beautiful fiery dragon. As I am staring fully captivated at the cover, I nearly jump from my own skin when a voice suddenly speaks up. “Find anything you like?”. “Jesus!!”. I clutch my chest, scowling at the smug-looking man in the doorframe. “Don’t scare me like that”.
