Book Is Better Than The Movie Novels & Stories

She looked up and smiled as I approached, and we exchanged warm hellos. As we sat down, Sarah began to explain why she was interested in adapting my book into a movie. She told me that she had read the book and had been deeply moved by the story. She believed that it had the potential to resonate with audiences on a wide scale, and she wanted to bring it to life on the big screen.

“Again, super lucky. And I love Philip Pullman. I think I’ll always prefer the books though, no matter how many movies they keep making. What about you—book or film?” Lyra doesn’t even pause. “Book. Definitely book.” Then she chews her lower lip. “I, uh, I have a magazine in the back. You’re actually in it, but I didn’t know you were in it until after I bought it, and then I saw you. God, that sounds kind of stalkery… Uh, do you mind signing it for me?” I smile brightly at her. “Not stalkery at all. Go grab your magazine. I still need a couple of minutes to decide what I want.”

"As far as I remember, you've been reading that damn novel since I've been talking to you. What do people enjoy reading words?" "Because it's awesome." "How? You can rather watch a movie than read books." I slapped the book out of her hand. "This book… Alpha's Check Mate by Amaury, it's awesome. You really should read her books. Some people prefer reading books than watching movies." She rolled her eyes and picked the book from the floor.

I asked passing Ivan his plate and getting comfortable on the couch. “Teen romance, movie adaptation from a book-“ “Say no more, I love love love book movies especially when it’s about high schoolers!” I said excitedly. “High school in movies and books -books especially- are way way better than real life” I ranted more in excitement. “Alright Nuts, your excitement wins” he laughs and plays the movie. “Yuppie yayyy! Book moviee!” I laughed loudly. “Come here, come closer” Ivan pats the space beside him and I scoot over leaving a little bit of space between us and Ivan puts his arm around my waist and pulls me closer that I find myself half on his laps and half on the couch.

Her smile wasn’t forced, and her words came out breathy with nostalgia. This softer version of the usually uptight city girl enamored him, and he pressed her for more details. “What did you think of the second movie version?” “The one with Leonardo Dicaprio?” Her blue eyes were bright as she looked back at him. “Yeah, that one.” Fiona scrunched her nose and shook her head. “I mean, it was good, and the effects were pretty amazing. Instead, we choose the movie Eragon. For once, I have to admit that I am not a huge fan of the movie. I read the book at one point and the movie just does not do the book justice. The books were pure genious while the movie was just a little 'bleh'. The story line itself was still pure genious but the way that they made the movie was lacking. I do not see myself watching it again. One good thing that came out of it though, is the fact that I can focus on Dante more instead of focusing on the movie. Snuggling in closer to him, I slowly move my hand up his leg.

End of flashback "Its a really good one. One of my absolute best even" I said summing up every other thing I would have said.

I figure if the book is any good, they’ll make a movie of it, so I might as well see it then and only waste two hours of my life, as opposed to wasting all the extra time it takes to read a book. Sorry. Obviously if you’re reading this, then we don’t really see eye-to-eye on this matter. Then again, unless you happen to be a socially inept serial killer who kills for profit and runs screaming away from any kind of real human interactive relationship, then there probably isn’t too much that we see eye-to-eye on, so let’s just agree to disagree.
