********Tessa******** I stared at my phone for the 100th time as the caller kept calling over and over again. My eyes caught the familiar pair of brown wheels that I had seen the first time that I found this coffee book reading shop. All my life and living with my step dad this has been one of my favorite spot considering the fact that I loved reading whenever I felt bored at home and broken I always come here and what hurts most is the fact that Nicolas was the person who brought me here before I turned 13 because he saw how much I loved reading.

Greta and Gabby made their way to Page Turner’s Bookstore just down the street from the Blue Moon Inn. Once inside the warmth of the large shop, Greta was surprised to see a bright modern shop, which included not only a metaphysical section, but my children’s section, too. With soft upbeat music playing in the background, it didn’t take long to find the shopkeeper chatting away to a rather wild looking dog by a fireplace.

It meant I still had time to take control of the project. Crash. A book suddenly fell from the shelf. I frowned. “Strange.” I walked over and picked it up. Book of Finance. That was the title printed on the cover. Something slipped from between the pages. A photograph. I pulled it out slowly. Goose meowed from the couch, clearly in agreement. By the time we headed out, my stomach was a mess of butterflies and caffeine. Ace drove us to the little indie bookstore downtown, the same one where I used to browse the romance shelves and daydream about my name sitting next to authors I loved. Now, those same shelves held Meow Me Twice, right there, spine gleaming under the display lights. I froze when I saw it. “That’s me,” I whispered, half to Ace, half to the universe. He slipped his hand into mine, squeezing gently. “That’s you,” he said. “Told you it’d happen.”

He shifts back; putting a seat between us and truly looking horrified. Bibah simply shakes her head at our childish shenanigans and takes a sip of her iced latte, metal straw clinking in the Hydro Flask. “The Awoo Book Club’s pick for this week is H.P Lovecraft.” She pats the voluminous book atop the pile and I notice it’s the library copy of H.P Lovecraft’s Omnibus 3. “I’m so excited to roast his ass.”

I noticed I’d done it and told myself it was just a funny picture and moved on. He started bringing things when he came over. Good coffee, not the gas station kind he usually grabbed on his way somewhere, but the actual stuff from the place on Dearborn that has a line out the door on weekends. Once he brought a book, held it out when I opened the door, and said, “You’ll like this,” with the confidence of someone who had already decided. I read it in three days. That’s not something I do. I’m a slow reader by choice, I like sitting with books, and I burned through this one like I was trying to finish it before I could think about why I was rushing.
