Bound By The Mafia's Love

Bound By The Mafia's Love

His eyes never left my face, and I just couldn't bring myself to stare back at him. I was about to leave when I spotted the book he was reading from the corner of my eyes. He had closed the book when I walked in, so I saw the cover and title, "To Kill a Mockingbird" by Harper Lee. I looked up at him in astonishment, "I didn't think you would be interested in classic literature."

His smile was warm, but it only made the ache in my chest grow stronger. I smiled back, but deep down I was upset. I really wished he’d had just left. Anyways, I went ahead to sit beside Cole, who had already taken a spot beside him. The cushions were soft, almost too soft, and they seemed to swallow me whole as I sank into them. My eyes picked out the title of the book that he was reading. It was “Bound by Hatred.” This was one of my favorite dark romance novels I read as a teen. The sight of it brought back a flood of memories, bittersweet and poignant.

she was such a drama queen. I couldn’t help the grin that spread across my face. “It’s just a first draft with barely ten pages Imo. I expected you to tear it apart .” “Why would I tear apart the holy grail of queer trauma literature?” she huffed. “This is like if Call Me By Your Name and a sociopath had a baby. I love it.” I let out a low laugh, tension bleeding from my shoulders. “That’s honestly the best compliment you’ve ever given me.”

But somehow, even the titles mocked me. “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before.” “Call Me by Your Name.” “Normal People.” “Cruel,” I muttered at the shelf. “Talking to books now?” a voice said behind me. I spun around, heart skipping — not because it was Ethan (thank God), but because I was that on edge. It was just the cashier, a bored-looking guy with green hair and glasses. “Sorry,” I said. “Just… arguing with the universe.” He nodded like that made perfect sense. “Fair. It usually wins, though.”

His Captive Mate

His Captive Mate

She pulls her pyjamas on, and once they’re both dressed Rosie takes down the glamour to put it back on the overhang. Caelius had taken the first watch, and was sitting by the fire reading a tattered paperback book. She makes her way over; he smiles up at her and puts a bookmark in and closes his book. “Interesting book?” He smiles, “Yes, actually. It’s a classic, ‘Il nome della rosa’; The Name of the Rose. It’s a murder mystery.” Celine nods, “I’ve had this a while.” She chuckles, and he smiles, “It’s not had an easy life, this book.” She nods,

Chasing Dylan

I asked Callum. "You'll see in a second, sugarplum." He replied with a smirk, kissing my cheek. We found the seating, and saw around thirty people sitting, many with the same book in their hands. They were chatting quietly, waiting for the author. I instantly recognized the book as A Black and White World by one of my favorite author's Zara Jones. My palms began to sweat as we sat down in the back. "Oh my God Callum, I could die right now." I whispered in excitement.

Had to add one more comment because my last didn’t have enough room lol. But I love the representation for women of color. I don’t see enough on here and have seen some pretty cringe worthy stuff when they are featured. This is a breath of fresh air. And the boujie comment was hilarious.

Love this book! So happy to finally see a book about a beautiful melanated Black girl with a great love story that doesn’t include a bunch of struggle love. Love the 4c hair. This book is well written, flows easily and doesn’t has a typos. The bougie part was hilarious. Please let their be a sequel.

he answered, and this just made me even more curious to ask him more questions. “Even though you can order it, but then it would take days for it to get here and you need it right now, so you had to come here,” I answered, giving him an explanation, and he nodded in agreement, immediately locking in. “What’s the name of this book?” I asked, and he swallowed. “Just an old classic historical romance book; Rebellious Love by Maura Seger,” he answered, and I slowly nodded. “Okay then,” I said as I took slow steps away from him.

" I felt so embarrassed that, he had to see that scene where the bad boy was having intercourse with his innocent girl, although the book wasn't all that bad most people judge a book by its cover. "So tell me, are you looking for that one boy that could touch you like that?" "Cam!" I called in frustration, I just couldn't believe how I let my guard down, just imagine, if it was his picture that I normally have everywhere on my wall, he had seen, then I would have been dead meat.

My Ex, the Widowed Billionaire

Like it knew where I wanted to go. Callum’s door was slightly ajar. I knocked softly. He looked up from where he sat at the edge of his own bed, a book in his hand—one I was fairly sure the vessel had made just for him, judging by the weathered cover and cracked spine. He smiled when he saw me. A quiet, welcome smile. “I couldn’t sleep,” I said, suddenly feeling awkward. “Too much light in my head.” “Me too.” He closed the book and set it aside. “Come in.”

He held open the door for me, as I got inside, holding the book I had brought close to my chest. "What are you reading today?" He asked, as he started up the engine, he smiled looking over at me. "The Beautiful and The Damned", I told him and he picked up on the title. "You're reading Fitzgerald", he asked, recognizing it from his own collection. "Read it to me", he asked, and I looked at him as if he was serious, but he just kept his eyes on the road. So I started with the first page, reading it up until we got to the breakfast cafe.
