Reading put me in an entirely new world filled with endless possibilities. The more knowledge I gained, the more I felt as if I could conquer almost anything. A strong slave could be dangerous, but a smart slave was practically lethal. The feeling of a freshly opened book was like no other. I rubbed my fingers across the pages and felt the magnetic pull it had on my eyes. The softness of each page with its hardened exterior sent a warmth through my body that no human could ever provide me.
