She had nowhere to rush to, and her body felt lazy, restless. “God, I’m bored,” she whispered under her breath. Her thighs shifted under the desk, the short skirt of her uniform riding up. She tugged it down but only ended up pressing her own legs tighter together. Her phone buzzed on the desk. She grabbed it, scrolling mindlessly. T*****r. I*******m. Nothing. Then a strange link popped up on some forum. “The Cursed Academy — A Story That Warps Reality.” Her lips curved into a little grin. “Cheesy title.” Still, she clicked.

Her cathedral. She slouched into her best corner chair—stuffed, tufted velvet in tired blue—pullding out a book from her tote. A quiet night's reading before bed was now her ritual, and for tonight, she opened what was familiar and comforting: *The Light Between Oceans*. The book always bore its imprint on her. Loss. Forgiveness. Breaking and binding decisions. She opened to the top of it, and the world disintegrated. Somewhere in the city—several stories above, in a steel and glass building—Julian Blackwood lay in his dark, sleek bedroom, staring at the book she had given him.

It's beautiful inside here. All the bookshelves are filled with books to the rim. From science fiction to mental healing books. They have everything here. I pull Ryder by his hand dragging him to an aisle. I immediately stick my head into a book reading the first page. I tend to read the first page after reading what's it's about, on the back, to see if I would really like it. I can see Ryder from the corner of my eye-grabbing a book and placing it down 10 seconds later.

It's possible, right? So, the code has four numbers. 8,9,1, and 0. But...there is no 0 on the page numbers! I opened the book to page 8. She turned the yellowed pages, running her finger over the black embossed words. "I'll take history," Casper announced grabbing the first book his hands landed on. He rested it against his chest, pacing the room as he flicked through the pages, sighing at every page turn. Gage opted for the Lycan section. Lena war and battles and Serena diaries of the royals. I went to the section on leadership and Alphas. Hours passed. The pile of discarded books in the middle of the room grew bigger and bigger as the books yet to read dwindled. Blake still tapped furiously at the laptop he rested on a small reading table. Lena joined Casper in sighing after each page turn.

Please take a look and give me your feedback. Also, if you could do one more thing for me—I've noticed that my rating on the book details page isn't enough to reach five stars. I know many of you have left feedback and reviews in the comments column, but unfortunately, they don't show up on the rating or affect it at all. So please kindly leave your rating directly on the book details page so the book can get the stars it deserves. Thank you again for all your support, votes, comments, and gifts. Wish me luck and good health so I can revise everything faster and turn the story into something even more exciting.
