Walking with Angelo seemed normal to them. Last Sunday, we watched a horror movie inside their house. I was so scared of the killer clowns in the movies, but he wasn’t even flinching while watching. He said those fictional creatures weren’t scary at all. What he was scared of was how dangerous some of the wolf packs are.

Reece whispers in my ear which makes me bounce in fear next to him. "Don't do that…" I snap at him. "Do what?" He asks innocently. "Scare me while I'm watching a horror movie.." I say to him. "Ssshhhh" Lexi, Tony and Aaron hiss at us in unison urging us to shut up. *********************************** It's 11:30pm now, almost midnight and I'm beyond nervous. Anytime now, it's going to happen. I'm going to get my wolf. I'm going to hear a voice in my head.

, Clinton chipped in with a crazy chuckle. “Wow! Bring it on, I love scary stories. My favorites movies are horror movies”, Enola said with certain level of boldness. The guys were already challenged because they can’t object at that moment owing to the one fact that a girl was already bold. They wouldn’t want to be the weak ones. “Please don’t make it too scary…. I want to sleep well this night”, Ella warned. With her warning, it was obvious that everyone of them wanted to hear the story, no matter how scary it looked.

I say, trying to hide my smile. “He’s a werewolf, Mama. Bees don’t sting for no reason. He’s supposed to be brave. I’m brave and I’m only four.” She holds up four sticky fingers proudly. I lift a brow. “You’re brave, huh? What about the time you made daddy check under your bed for monsters three nights in a row?” Scarlett’s eyes narrow, like I’m betraying her. “That’s different. Monsters are sneaky. Bees are just bees,” she states with irrefutable logic. “Oh, I see. Very scientific.”

What in the world is going on? My mouth dropped in awe as some writing began to come up on the book, I wanted to take my hands off the book and scream out my lungs in fear but for some reasons I couldn't , I just watched in shock and as soon as it stopped I lifted the book up to my face to see what was written there. You shiver when you always think of, A werewolf in the night, They eat human flesh so yuck and sticky, But it’s just in your mind You might think there’s a creepy castle,

He brushes his fingers down my cheek, and a weird pulling feeling erupts inside my chest. "So young. So naive. My dear little mouse, they talked about how big of a monster I am. They made it sound as if all werewolves are just as horrid. The humans are afraid...and what do humans do when they are afraid? They kill, my sweet pet. They kill. Even though we have been living side by side for thousands of years...that won't matter because they are scared," Lucian says softly, and my cheeks blush at the gentle way he is speaking to me.

As the stories got scarier, I noticed a few of the younger pack members huddling closer to their parents, seeking comfort and reassurance. Soon, it was my turn to share a story. Feeling the weight of the moment, I cleared my throat and began my tale. "In a small village, there was a haunted mansion. It was said that the spirit of a vengeful witch roamed the halls, seeking revenge on anyone who dared to enter her domain..." I let my imagination run wild, conjuring spine-chilling scenes and mysterious characters. The pack leaned in closer, their eyes wide with fascination, hanging onto every word I spoke. The suspenseful atmosphere made my heart race with excitement.

She didn't want to hear anymore of the frightening story. "Don't tell me you're all scared. It's a myth, I made it up!" John smirked, his eyes gazing at the scared faces of his girlfriend and friends. "Ha ha ha, scared? I've never been scared of anything in my life!" Rocky roared in laughter as he rose from the ground. "Scary stories don't scare me. I'm gonna pee!" He uttered still grinning. "Don't wander far into the woods, you never know who you'll meet." John warned in a playful but spooky voice.

Each volume of Strange short stories will have 3 medium-sized stories and about 10 short stories. To make it easier to understand and more transparent, this chapter will be like a summary for this and the following volumes.
