Book Stuck In Neutral Novels & Stories

The book slipped slightly in my hand. And everything went dark.

I turned over to the next page or I tried to. As if it had become stuck, the page did not even move. Furthermore, the rest of the pages couldn't be accessed either; they were like they had been glued together. I decided not to force it out of fear that the pages would tear. The suspicion was that Wise had glued all the pages, but it was not possible since even if he did not want me to take the book, he would never do such a thing. Could you please tell me why I cannot read the next page or any other page?

I took a step out of my doorway to look down the hallway and my foot collided with something hard that was on the floor. "Oww Oww Oww," I yelped in pain. My poor baby toe I want to howl but I know better so I bite down on my lip as I let out a soft cry and begin to hop on one foot. I look down to see what assaulted my toe and to my surprise, it's a huge book. The book has a black leather cover and on the center of the cover, there is a glass bulging bubble that's filled with some kind of red liquid.

“He’s troublesome.” I roll my eyes and hold the spine of a book titled ‘Dark Magic’ to pull it. “Why is it stuck?” I mutter, yanking the stubborn book spine, but it won’t budge. I throw my weight into it, only to hear a groaning sound from above. My eyes go wide in horror as the entire shelf seems to tilt forward.

I took the book. It was a heavy thing, some kind of ledger. I held it over the desk and let go. It fell normally, hitting the desk with a thud. "Maybe it was a fluke," I said.

The White Book suddenly appeared beside Adrian. Its pages turned faster than ever before. Every page contained the same sentence. HE HAS RETURNED TOO EARLY. The boy looked at the White Book. His smile disappeared. "I never liked that book." "It always tells the truth too late." Without touching it... he simply raised one finger. The White Book froze. Its pages stopped turning. For the first time since Adrian had found it... the book became completely silent. The Stranger whispered, "This is impossible..." The boy slowly looked back at Adrian.

"A sign that didn't extend to the book on Pack Combat training from the Guide shelf, or Emotional Subservience on the Subject Mechanics shelf?" I clear my throat. Because she is right. Very fucking right. While I was telling you all about my theory on the universe granting me things, I forgot to mention—technically, the skip was intentional—that two other books from two other aisles had hit my head while we passed and I returned them. We already know why I'm curious about this book in particular. Sue me for wanting to find out more about such a strange topic that I only just found out is real—and extends to me.
