Should I cover myself or toss the book out the window? My body seems to have a mind of its own. My hands seize the book and clutch it to my breasts.

"Sweetheart, let go so I can bandage you. It won't hurt as much once it's wrapped up." When I didn't respond, she tried to pry my hand open, but even a little force made me bleed. So she gave up and called out to my father. "Captain Lewis, the boy's holding something in his right hand and won't let go. I think it might be evidence about the kidnapper, or something important from his family. Do you want to take a look?" My father's expression sharpened as if he'd suddenly realized something and started toward me. At that moment, Ezel strode in wearing a white suit, surrounded by a cordon of special ops officers. He threw himself into my father's arms, trembling like he was the real victim.

The only person that could ever shake my heart would remain Sally, except Sally, no other person, nor any situation would be capable of making my heart beat, or skip. "Hold", one of then said pointing to the paper. "I have seen it, it corresponds", another replied. They were studying the paper keenly and nodding their head. It was as if they haven't found any fault in the paper yet. "Have this", one of them said bringing me back to reality forcefully. He stretched his hand towards me, handing me the three books. I took them from him and passed them unto my accountant.

Nothing had changed in 8 years. Our living room had huge windows on the two sides overlooking the garden and the porch. The art my grandma had collected throughout her life, still hung there and the miniature sculptures and trinkets were still there. Though I'm sure they had tampered with the books, the book shelves once extra filled, had a few empty shelves now, also there were a lot of titles I didn't knew. I could only feel bad inside for them ruining my grandpa's book collection, something we both had cherished.

His hands slid upward, pausing just inches below her breasts. ‘Please, Damien… Please, please, please… don’t stop. I need this… I need you… Only you…’ Regina wanted to cry out but bit her lip, not quite ready to voice her desires. Her nipples tightened in anticipation. When Damien didn’t move, she shifted, rubbing herself against him, an age-old move conveying her willingness for more. Abruptly, his hands clamped onto her hips, holding her still. Her body and spirit froze in his grip as Regina realized it stemmed from something other than desire, despite the hardness still nestled against her.

Are you reading that, Miranda?" My eyes darted to the book I was holding. I was kneeling in front of the center table where I had arranged the books. I froze and remained rooted in place when I read the title of the book in my hand.

“Let me leave you to enjoy your brooding state while I go get the fun in need. So, see you some other day?” “If I still exist, yes,” I tell her, and she smiles at me before she starts to exit the room. When she reaches the door, I was expecting her to walk right through it again but she turns around to look at me. “Lest I forget,” she says and takes her right hand from the back. She then holds it out for me to see a book in it. “I wanted to give you this,” When I look closely at the display of the book, I could instantly tell that it was the book I was after in this place — the Archived Holders.

I drop the book in my arms to save myself. It takes me a second to realize I'm clutching his arms—his very solid, muscular arms. My nails are digging into his black work shirt. Focus, Nora. As I hold onto his arms and he still has his hand around my arm, we both slowly look down at the book, which has fallen on the floor between us with the soft pages down. It stays up in an awkward position for one second and slowly falls over, bending the cover page that is on the bottom. We both look at the book, and silence falls.

He holds the book loosely, still looking at me as he walks back up to the counter and my pulse stutters as my heart squeeze at his words. “Shit! You really are crazy! That’s not how that works.”I say in a pitiful tone as a faint smile touches his lips. “You’d be surprised.”He says and I inhale slowly trying steadying myself and my patience as I stretch out my hand as I reach for the book he’s holding. Or at least I try to. He doesn’t hand it over right away. Instead, he just stands there, holding it loosely, still looking at me like he’s studying something I can’t see in myself.

Picking it up, I held it on the palm of my hand. “Hold up your hand, Logan. Like this.” I raised my right hand, fingers together with my palm facing toward Logan, just like it was done in court. His eyes, flickering with a mix of perplexity and intrigue, met mine. “What is this? What are you doing?” “Just follow my lead,” I persisted, feeling the edges of the worn-out book under my fingers. Reluctantly, his hand lifted, and I silently took his other hand and placed it on top of the book. Our eyes met, his gaze slowly filling with recognition as mine remained steadfast.
