Novel & Cerita Book The Intern

I get up from the couch, and my gaze darts on the thing lying on the armchair. It's Prince's notebook. Wondering if it's something important that he forgot to bring, I walk closer to it. I feel guilty for looking into other people's stuff, but there's something urgent kicking inside me. I take the book and flip through the pages. Then my eyes widen. It's all about the presentation to get into the internship. He's written the notes here and there. The important points, the conclusions and what he has to say to convince the company.

Kelvin looks me up and down, taking in my designer heels, my silk blouse, and my carefully styled hair. "As if," he mutters under his breath. Barbara clears her throat. "Anyway, Kelvin, I'm leaving her in your capable hands. Try to train this... trainee." She gives me one last look—somewhere between pity and amusement—and then she's gone, the door swinging shut behind her. Kelvin and I stare at each other. "So," he finally says. "You're my new intern." "Looks like it." He sighs dramatically, moving to his sorting table. "Alright, pop quiz. What's the difference between interoffice mail and external correspondence?"

I might as well just get it all off my chest. “You accused me of trying to steal your book. I didn’t even know how much it was worth, I’m just a really big fan of Cooper.” I exhaled sharply. “And even after that, you told me to work closely with you. Why? Why would you do that? I’m just an intern. I’m nobody. There are so many people here who would kill to be in my position, and you chose me? You didn’t think people would talk? You don’t think it looks bad?” “And then, I thought you were dying inside your office. So I came to check on you and the next thing I know, I’m on your desk, begging you like an idiot for you to please me!”

The building looked like an edgy nightclub but as quiet as a museum. As I walked passed the revolving doors and deeper into the reception. Oh fuck me, everybody at the lobby is looking at me. I can't do this. I just can't. I take a deep breath in and exhaled. Get your shit together Thea, this is a once in a lifetime chance. Your internship is at stake. You'll embarrass the name of Lure Magazine. Even though I'm already embarrassing the magazine's name because of how I dressed. I walk up to the reception even though I am inwardly already embarrass. "Thea Thibault for Mr. Ben Styles." I say.

As soon as the words left my mouth, my wife Alexia Holt's voice turned cold. "Just because I didn't take you to dinner and loaned a diamond ring to Caleb to save him from embarrassment, you want a divorce? Over something this small?" "Yes." I had a thousand things I wanted to say. But if my feelings were just a small matter to her, then no matter how much I said, she would only see it as me whining without reason. I was about to hang up when, suddenly, from the other end of the line, I heard the intern Caleb Foster's voice.

In fact, it feels like I'm walking into some kind of spa and not an office. The secretaries behind the large dark wooden counter look so alike that I mistake them for twins. It turns out they aren't. They just have the same hairstyle and are wearing the same olive-colored dress. I would've guessed that they'd fawn over Igor and greet him flirtatiously but they're the only employees I've come across so far who openly show fear. "Bethany, Paula," he says when he nears them. I've never heard him use this voice before; it's full of authority and arrogance. "This is your new intern. Teach her what you know. Make sure she knows how to handle things by the end of the day."

"Izzy, you're light-years away from a 1.0, but yeah, we still need to hit the books." "Exactly!" Izzy exclaimed triumphantly. "And don't forget about the whole internship thing next year. We start during our breaks in junior year. Any thoughts on where you'll be interning? Or maybe you'll join me at Dante's? Apparently, I don't have a choice, but lucky you, you do." "That sounds like a solid plan," Emma agreed. "I bet a ton of people from our class will be vying for internships there. We should definitely apply and cross our fingers."

Sophia’s POV “Oh, boy…” I whispered with great excitement and nervousness as I clicked on the email from Urban Next Design Studio. This is it, my dream internship! I truly admired their work and have heard how interns were always treated wonderfully and given great opportunities. I’m eager to meet new people in the field and learn from them. It’ll be amazing! Plus, I’ll get a monthly salary too! I scanned the email with eager anticipation. The company was impressed with my portfolio and wanted to schedule an interview during their presentation this weekend at the Goldwell Institute of Art.

Then she stepped back and shook her head. “Just remember who you are. Damien Roth isn’t interested in girls like you.” She stormed out, leaving nothing but silence behind her. Later that morning at Roth Enterprise... I held my coffee tight as I walked through the glass lobby. Everyone was staring. I heard the whispers before I even reached the elevator. “That’s her.” “The intern with Roth.” “Bet she won’t be an intern for long.” I kept walking, heart in my throat. The elevator doors closed. I stood alone inside, trying to breathe. Trying to stay calm. Trying to remind myself this meant nothing.

you said to Garrison's back as he stormed off deeper into the building. You checked the drawer that the Senior Partner had been rifling through - he'd made a mess of it, and based on the labels on the front he hadn't been anywhere near the right spot. You quickly stuffed the moved files back in place and slammed the drawer shut before shifting one column over and looking for the V drawer. "Hey John," Eric said, coming off the elevator. He was another of the five interns working for the summer but had come from out of state. His Dad had some sort of connection to the firm and had hooked him up with the position. "What's up?"
