Twist of Fate

Twist of Fate

Cries and laughter echo within the thin walls of the old building of the orphanage every day, transforming into silent sobs in the evening. Mother Cecilia Devlin, our strict but kind head matron, with the help of the other nuns, priests, social workers, and educators in the area, diligently took care of all of us, orphan children, despite our circumstances. We were abandoned by our parents and relatives due to different circumstances. Some of us were abandoned due to some disability; some were like me, who lost their parent or parents due to an accident and had no relative to claim us; while others were victims of abuse like Grace.

Revenge, Regret And Redemption: Bound In Contract Marriage

Revenge, Regret And Redemption: Bound In Contract Marriage

These children shared a common connection between them- they were seen as the products of sin by the world. Born from teenage pregnancies, assault and rape, or adultery, their parents could not—or would not—keep them. These children were hidden away from the world, for they are the darkest of sin. Abandoned on the orphanage's doorstep, they were left to grow up in darkness. Killian stared at the orphanage in front of him. It was the very place where Amara had been abandoned, where she had grown up without any parental support. The orphanage looked old, dull, and broken in many places. His heart clenched as he imagined her childhood in such a place. She must have faced countless hardships, fi

The Cursed Alpha Mate

The Cursed Alpha Mate

"It's hard to notice an orphan in a werewolf pack. When everyone's good, everybody would libe peacefully like a big family" "It's hard to believe that you're an orphan, the relationship I see between werewolves would make orphans forget that they're even orphans. But here in human world, orphans are treated with pity, disregard. Some are even sold out to be slaves and the rest survivors would be hoodlums, stealing just to make a living"

Bloody Sinners

Bloody Sinners

"I set my focus on filling out the paperwork for the orphanage, and now, I'm totally wrung out." The weight of worry that had settled on me became a heavy knot in the pit of my stomach as I stared out the window to see people already gathering into the orphanage to look the children over. I prayed that they would be gentle and kind as they examined the orphans. I had heard stories of little ones being treated like livestock at auction at these events. I would hate to see any of those darlings handled that way. "Lydia. A fine day for placing out some orphans and doing our Christian duty, eh?"

Max's Revelation

Max's Revelation

If one’s parents die early, you become an orphan, if your parents abandon you emotionally, you are an orphan, if your parents are not present all the time, you are practically an orphan, so what is the difference of an actual orphan and these abandoned kids, nothing. The emotional scars and trauma are all the same. Their parents were not present when they most needed them. So what makes them bad people? Nothing, because nothing is wrong with them. They are regular people and should be considered as such. Orphans should be given the same chance as everyone else. Because, as Max and his siblings have proven, they have risen from the ashes and made something of themselves. They have their compa

This is intriguing, witty and I still enjoy the relationship among the siblings. there isn't a boring moment when they are together. Perhaps Max is the key to this chemistry or perhaps Clara, who knows? But I really enjoy the introduction of Celine. I can't wait for more chapters!

Thank you author for Max’s story. Was just as well written as Clara’s Mystery and I cannot wait to read Jeremy’s. Keep writing because I am a fan and hooked on your ability to tell the story that grabs your readers and has them thinking of the characters long after the last chapter!

EMERGENCE: The Subnatural Chronicles

EMERGENCE: The Subnatural Chronicles

You know, war. Despite their absence, from what I'm told they were big parts of war efforts, considered heroes. Some heroes left their kid to live like some forgotten problem. There and handled but never really taken care of. The government check arrives like clockwork on the first of every month. Just enough to keep me alive, not enough to make anything of myself. I suppose I should be grateful. Most orphans end up in the camps—overcrowded, underfunded facilities where kids are more likely to learn how to fight or steal than read or write. At least I have walls and a door that locks.

Red: Orphans and Royalties

Red: Orphans and Royalties

From the first look, they really don't look like siblings, not even relatives. "Well, you sure heard about the term Royal Orphans?" Saint sat down beside them. "Yes. What about it?" Raze answered, recalling a scene from yesterday. "Oh, you are orphans, right?" "Yes and you're now a part of this family. According to Mom, Queen Amanda, we are survivors of the deforestation and forest fire happened 20 years ago. She also added that we came from different regions and brought here by Dad, King Vulture. We grew up together and not until now, our family welcomed two members," he explained while smiling fondly.

Bewitched

“Get dressed and use our gifted car. Visit the orphan and put me in a good light, also work with your image. Don’t forget to be humble and always smile, don’t ever show your impatient side.” “I understand. I’m on my way.” She dropped the call. What else can I do? I sighed and headed for the orphanage. When I arrived, the sponsored foods and books for children aged three to ten also arrived. Babies are held by other institutions, but the orphanage is held by both nuns and priests. I don’t hate children; I hate their parents. I don’t know why most people do not like abortion when in fact they are basically telling us that it is fine to abandon their child, at least they didn’t kill them. Why w

[Hestia] I'm here having fun with the children right now. I can see how happy they are with little things. I can see pure happiness in their eyes. I learned that most of these kids were left by their parents at the doorstep of the orphanage when they were babies. There are even a few children that they found at the dumpster as babies. How could these people abandon their children?? The world is a really cruel and scary place, but these kids are so pure and genuine, they deserve so much more. How can those awful people abandon them?

The Devil wears Red Lipstick

The Devil wears Red Lipstick

He sits beside me, pulls down his hoodie, and rakes a hand through his hair. It sticks up everywhere. Unfairly attractive. “You bite it. It doesn’t bite you,” he says, taking a large bite from his. “I’ve never had one,” I say. He freezes mid-chew. Coughs like he’s choking. “I’m sorry—what?” “I’ve never had one.” His face contorts like I just said I’ve never seen a phone. “You’re kidding.” I take a tiny, cautious bite. “I grew up in an orphanage. Then boarding school. Then, as an orphan in university, I had to choose: books and a computer, or hot dogs.”
