I was already looking forward to break time. When bell was rung, everyone rushed to the cafeteria. I chose a seat at the far end of the hall, placed the food made by dad on the table. A book in hand, barely eating but reading. I'm one of those people that became a book lover by force. I find my peace in the books I read. The fictional world is better than my real life anyway. Besides, it would help me hide a bit of my loneliness and sadness.

“He’s a dragon, but he’s also a handsome boy. But his brother’s even more handsome, and he’s an even bigger dragon!” Apparently, teenage girls liked shitty books no matter which world you happened to be in. The library wasn’t particularly big, about the size of a large living room, but the walls were covered in shelves, and each shelf was full of books. I skimmed the spines looking for any interesting titles. “When I said books about magic, I meant books that teach you how to do magic, not silly stories for little girls.”

It was fresh and invigorating, and it felt like the winds of change were blowing, as though bigger and better things were only a gust away. I was just another 18-year-old in twelfth grade. Unsurprisingly, that also meant I had teenage hormones that raged constantly, and I was always giving in to them. Aside from any pictures or videos I could have found on the internet, there were scores of pretty girls I found quite appealing at school. The combination of the two caused me to fabricate an endless array of fantasies in my head.

To cancel the weird feeling of intimidation, I praise him back. "And you look good," I smile quickly and check the books on his cart. "Panda Writes? You like fiction?" "Ah, no. You are..." he is checking the books I picked "fond of reading Things You Should Know About Teenagers and Their Hormones," he reads the title completely. I smile and... what?! I check the book in my cart and it is definitely there. A book with the title Kaze read. A book to understnad kids. A book for parents. Are high school kids supposed to read that?

CHAPTER FOUR Teenage FBI The enrolment phase was a swift affair helped by the incredible efficiency demonstrated by the members of The Blue Thunder Foundation. Shrugging off the melancholy air prevalent at the flagpole, the boys and girls—all in their early to mid-teens—were now inside the hut, a huge space painted in blue and white with a stage and lectern at one end. A Blue Thunder pennant secured to the wall spanned the stage, making an imposing backdrop.

I glance at the cover of the book she slid across the counter: a Catherine Bybee novel. “Oh, wow, Mathilda. You’re a fan of Catherine Bybee?” I smile, genuinely impressed as I open the ledger. “It’s refreshing to see a teenager with such classic taste. Most girls your age are glued to their phones, but here you are, diving into a good romance.”
