She turned to Noah as he sat cramping himself in the devan avoiding her gaze. “I’ll gladly read this,” she said. “Next time let's read some more.” “Really?” Noah exclaimed, almost jumping off his seat. Ophelia nodded with a smile. “Next time,” Noah said with excitement. “I’ll take you to the library. We have got like a thousand different books. My goal is to finish reading them all before I become an adult.” “Are you close to accomplishing it?” Ophelia asked, tilting her head. “No,” Noah said, his voice sounding like defeat. “I barely read 10 books. Most are too difficult for me to understand.”

Soft rugs were scattered around in different shapes that were playful, comforting. Against the far wall, a reading nook had been built with shelves filled from top to bottom. Picture books for the little ones, novels of all kinds for the older ones. Damn near every topic that you could think of. Fiction, non-fiction, manga, history, lore, etc. A huge, cushioned bench wrapped along the windows, covered in pillows so fluffy even I wanted to curl up on them.

I thought any guy would let his belongings scattered around, but Noah isn't like that. "Yeah, I can finish my work. are you bored? "Asked Noah "hah? Yeah. I'm a little bored. There is nothing I want to do it feels "I complained spoiled. "Do you like reading books? There are all the novels that I collect. You can read it if you want. Noah pointed to the bookshelf located in the corner of the room. I walked over to the bookshelf. There are books by various titles. I choose one of the books that look interesting for me to read.

Kennedy POV. The weather was bad, but I needed to get that new book, it's Robert birthday gift, who'd knew a grown up man would kill for the newest werewolf love book. I got into my car, drove carefully toward the local book store, they had the new book reserved for me. It was supposed to one quick drive, until I walked into the library. A girl was sitting on a bean bag, her blond hair was covering her eyes with overgrown bangs, she tried to huff them away from her face but to no use. She looked young, maybe she's just here with her parents, looking down at the book she had in her hands it was a kids story. Does she read for the local kids? Or is it just for her?

I took in the sight of Noah’s warm and welcoming apartment. The walls were painted cream and there was a couch of the same color, only a one or two shades darker. A brown table stood in front of it, three books piled neatly on it. I was not much of a reader but admired those who loved to get whisked to unknown lands by books. Three art frames were pinned to the wall, right above the couch. I admired the beautiful lamp on a stool near the couch. You could see the kitchen area with everything in order. Had Noah arranged everything because I was coming over or was he always like that? I hoped I’d have the chance to find out some day.

Too bad because I'd have worn one. He has two books on his nightstand. One is a business book that I'll admit sounds thoroughly boring. The other is Lincoln and His Admirals by Craig Symonds. I've read several Lincoln biographies and other books about the Civil War but not this one. I pick up the hardcover and hate the fact that my Nook reader is back in my apartment. I'd love nothing more than a good murder thriller right now.

The inside of Margaret's house was warm and ordered, every surface deliberate. Books filled the walls, not for decoration but for use, their spines creased and worn. A fire burned in a stone hearth. On the kitchen table, three cups were already set out. Three. "You knew we were coming," Noah said, pulling out a chair.
