The Teacher's Little Pet

The Teacher's Little Pet

Stephanie’s POV I stood quietly in front of my locker trying to recall where I had kept my English language textbook when suddenly I heard a loud thud on my locker door. I was frightened but yes, I was also used to it. “Nerdy bitch” Stacy said to me rolling her eyes and walking away like she didn’t just almost give me a heart attack. I simply ignored and picked out the textbook that was hiding behind my Romance novel. Oh how I loved the sweet impossible imagination of having a lover.

The Joker - The Ashford Brothers Series - Book Two

To stay away from everyone, to keep them all in the dark about how fucked up my life is right now. I look at my bookshelf and smile when I find my favorite childhood book. Little prince. I grab it and cuddle up on my bed with the book. I pull the blanket up to my waist and open the book on the first page. I can’t remember the last time I read this book, but I know it will bring me back to memories from when I was a kid because I remember reading it to Layla.

A Little More to Love

A Little More to Love

"Anyways Matilda, if you don't mind finding any material like that so I can get back to Leena? After the kidnapping and poisoning, I don't like leaving her alone for too long." She seems to be struck out of her delighted reverie and starts roaming the shelves and picking out several books. Once she has a stack almost as tall as she is, she hands it to me and ushers me out. "Go on, get! You have a mate you have to attend to. Don't spend more time with your nose in these books than you do with her. I'm warning you, Damon Saxe, I will find out if you ruin this good thing." I turn to leave, laughing at the fiery she-wolf that made my life so much more bearable as a teenager.

The Alpha Lords of Darkness (part one)

The Alpha Lords of Darkness (part one)

There was only one way she could return which was the door, so I shut and bolted it which gave me some confidence on the task ahead. The book, as I had already examined was a thick volume, brown at the corners, indicating the age of the pages, I could easily backdate them to about sixteen years ago, around the time I was born. The cover had no caption, but on the inner leaf where the words in coarse writing: “The Life of Veronica” For her daughters Lettie and May.

There the first page was a blank page and the second page depicts the title of the book, it was about a story "The little Princess," he whispered through the room because he knew that no one can hear him inside or outside but still he needs to be careful. So he shut his mouth again while focusing his view on the book more like it was making his spine have shivers as well as goosebumps all over his skin 'So it was based on a true story after all, what is the meaning of this and why did it have to be one of his treasures? The author was not even mentioned at all'

His Little Wolf

His Little Wolf

I need to know even if it does lead to heartbreak for me, heartbreak is better than living this unknown. We step into the kitchen and quickly get greeted by the storm that is the children. Bella makes a be-line for me and jumps up in my arms, she is such a cute child, she has brown shoulder-length hair that naturally curls on the ends just like Harleys did and her big brown eyes always remind me of Josh, she looks like Josh so much that somedays its painful, she's got his height too, she's going to be a tall girl when she's older. "Ok Beth after lunch there's a surprise for you. A member of the pack has set up a treasure hunt for your birthday and it starts from the moment you leave this kit

I really like this book so far. Even though she is 15, I'd like to see an accidental kiss between Beth and Liam (it happens in real life). Or maybe skip to her being 18 sooner and finding out her silly teen crush is really her handsome mate. So excited about updates tbh. Can't get another of reading

I think this book was great. I will definitely give it a 5 star rating. The only thing negative I will say, is that I think you spent way to much time writing when she was still underage and sped up the book/ ended after she turned of age. I would have liked to see more of the story of Liam and Beth

A Life Off Script

A Life Off Script

What happened to the darling heroine? [The male lead transferred her out of town. She probably won't appear again.] [So the male lead lost both sides?] [Serves him right.] The new apartment was small: one bedroom, one living room, and a kitchen barely big enough for one person to turn around in. But the balcony was large. On my first day there, I set up a small side table on the balcony, laid down a rug, and put out a beanbag chair. At night, sitting there, I could see the city lights.

The Little Wild Secret

The Little Wild Secret

" The midwife and Lydia shared a worried look before nodding, their hands trembling. Without another word, they rushed out of the room. I did not truly relax until I heard the door click shut. However, my anxiety came rushing back when I glanced at the three little beings on the bed. No one could ever find out about them. I grabbed a pillow from the couch, stuffed it under my shirt, and faked still being pregnant. Over the next few days, I kept the three pups hidden away. They grew alarmingly fast, though. In just a few weeks, they had turned into chubby furballs, bouncing and tumbling around. They had even started talking. "Mommy, I'm hungry... I want some meat," Xylon, the oldest, said, hu

A Bet That Changed My Life

A Bet That Changed My Life

Finn was sitting inside. My heart skipped a beat. The petals were custom-made, each one unusually large, with words printed on them. I picked one up and unfolded it, my hands shaking. “Be with me–” At the same time, my phone rang. When I answered, it was Finn. “I told you it was a surprise, didn’t I?” Then, I froze because when I turned the petal over, I saw the name written on the back—Sophie. Finn burst into laughter over the deafening roar of the helicopter.

Caught in Between Lust and Desires

Caught in Between Lust and Desires

The pages flipped on their own, fast at first, then slower, until they stopped right in the middle of the book. Words began to glow. Not carved or written. Glowing. My breath caught in my throat as I read. “My little boy is all grown up…” The sentence shook me. There was a faint blur at the end of it, like the ink had been smeared by tears when it was written, and I swear my chest physically tightened. The next line appeared slowly, like it was being written in real time. “Victor… you need the Gem of Life to live.” My hands trembled. The writer is really is my mother. But…

I made a mistake with the upload for Chapter 197. The correct chapter has been uploaded and is currently awaiting approval. You will need to reread the chapter tomorrow so the flow into Chapter 198 makes better sense.

Frequently Asked Questions

Reading 'A Little Life' feels like being handed a thousand-page emotional gut punch. The story follows four college friends navigating adulthood in New York, but it zeroes in on Jude, whose traumatic past bleeds into every aspect of his present. The novel doesn’t just explore suffering—it dissects it with surgical precision, showing how abuse and self-loathing can become a life sentence. Jude’s relationships are heartbreakingly complex: Willem’s unconditional love, Malcolm’s quiet concern, and JB’s occasional cruelty all reflect different facets of how people cope with pain they can’t fix.

What makes the book unforgettable is its refusal to offer easy redemption. Jude’s scars—both physical and emotional—aren’t magically healed by time or affection. The narrative forces you to sit with discomfort, asking brutal questions about the limits of resilience. Some scenes are so visceral they linger for days, like the recurring imagery of Jude scrubbing his skin raw. It’s not just a story about trauma; it’s a microscope focused on how trauma rewires a person’s ability to accept love or hope.

The prose oscillates between lyrical and clinical, mirroring Jude’s fractured psyche. Yanagihara builds a world where joy exists but feels fragile, always overshadowed by the next tragedy. Controversial for its relentless darkness, the novel sparks debates about whether it crosses into trauma porn. But its power lies in that very rawness—it’s a mirror held up to society’s failure to protect the vulnerable, and a testament to the endurance of broken people.
