Suddenly, Baba stopped chanting and opened his eyes, which gleamed with an intense, otherworldly light. He reached into the pot with his bare hands, seemingly unaffected by the boiling heat. His fingers found Ogadima's shoulders, gripping them tightly.
"Awaken," he whispered, his voice barely above a hiss. "Accept the spirits who now reside within you, the power that will be yours if you surrender."
