There's even a publishing room here. What's most astonishing is that all the books here can be accessed through a smartphone. The Zidduya library app can be downloaded from the play store. "Hold on, Din..." someone says behind me. I turn my head to see who it is. ***

Brianna’s little hands grasp ours like we're a family. “Alright, Bri,” I start, holding the book out in front of us. “What story are we reading tonight?” “The princess and the frog!” she declares, eyes sparkling. Kevin groans dramatically. “You always read that!” I smirk, brushing a strand of hair from my face. “How dare you complain about such a masterpiece?” As I read, I exaggerate voices, making Kevin act as a cute frog, Brianna squeals in delight, clutching her blanket tighter when I narrate the part where Tiana becomes a frog too.

ALPHA MOON: CLAIMED BY DESTINY. “Bailey,” I said, voice strangled, “I can not read this.” Bailey’s grin turned feral. “You absolutely can. And you absolutely will.”

“Mommy has to read a story.” I smiled faintly. “You’re still excited to read a story, even though you were sleepy earlier?” “Of course. Just one story.” Noah raised a finger, his face very serious.
