They only ever commented on how they enjoyed seeing me play with the couples children and how I would make a great Luna and Alpha. I had sensed them growing impatient with waiting for me to mate. I had planned to put it off for as long as I can hopefully never. I needed time to solidify my plan. “Hello?” I answer my ringing phone. I had not realized my mind had wondered while I stared at my reflection in the bathroom mirror. “Alpha, things are about to go sideways.” “What do you mean?” “Alpha Oliver caught the former Riverbend Alpha sneaking onto his land with some Rogues. He has him prisoner and I don’t think he has plans to let him go.”

He needed a secretary. "Hello, is this the Alpha?" If the speaker didn't have the voice of an elderly gentleman, River might've been annoyed that he'd just identified himself as the Alpha and was promptly asked if he was the Alpha.... "Yes, this is River. Who am I speaking with?" "This is Alpha Harry Lewis of the Glacier Field Wolf Pack." River had heard of this pack, but they were located so far north, he had never visited their lands and didn't know much about them. "How can I help you, sir?" River asked.

In an instant, Alpha stood in front of River, his hand clamped around River's throat. "You bald fool, I've had enough of you!" Alpha growled. River was utterly stunned. Alpha's speed left him no time to react. Before River could respond, Alpha's hand was already around his neck! River found himself powerless and dared not to even think of resisting. What was happening? Why was that person so strong? Who were they? River felt fear wash over him for the first time and turned pale. He recalled Alpha's earlier words and wondered if everything they said was true.

"Your pancakes won't be long!" The couple beamed back, their carefree happiness making River a little envious. If only she had such a carefree life too. Just as River turned to return to Tara, noises similar to shrieks and applause erupted near the front door. Silence soon fell over the restaurant and murmurs prevailed. Heads turned, eyes searching for the source of the cheerful chatter. "The Alpha's here," a deep voice called out from a booth by the window. River froze. The word echoed and reechoed in her mind. Alpha. It couldn't be. Not here. Not now.

I went back into our room and handed River his shirt back. "Do you want to tell me why that wolf growled at me?" he asked. "He's my soulmate and showing signs of possessiveness," I told him. "Oh, wow!" Sandy said with big eyes and a happy smile. "That's great that you found him," Melody told me in her calm demeanor. "It is but he's an Alpha, meaning you will have to leave," Sandy said. "I know," I huffed. "It's curious that you would end up with a wolf as your mother did," River said.

It was strange being with River; different but wild and crazy. "Did I please my Alpha?" I batted my eyelashes innocently at him. "You have no fucking idea how perfectly you please me." He spoke darkly, hand fisting my hair and lips crashing to mine. River grunted as his tongue slid over mine, tasting the mess of us all over my mouth. "You taste perfect, just the way we should be." He spoke as his lips trailed down my chin and neck. "One and together. Mine!" His words caused a shutter through my body, my head leaning back, growling in the lust-filled haze this man created.

I leaned onto a rock and closed my eyes, relaxing. A few moments later, the tramping sounds of wolf feet running towards me brought my eyes to open. I was alarmed to see several large wolves running closely around the river, heading towards the Alpha's house. I quickly hid behind a large rock, scared. Upon their departure, I turned to exit the river, and I'm startled to see the Alpha standing at a nearby tree, watching me. Immediately, I sank my naked body further down into the river, covering my face with my long, wet black hair, ashamed of the alpha for seeing me like this.

I just shrugged defensively before turning my watchful gaze back to Alpha Rivers. "So you want my grain," Alpha Rivers continued, "And I want...what do I want?" "That's the question we were hoping you could answer," Rose said, "Your letter came as a surprise. One day you are our enemy, the next you want to help us in our time of need?" Alpha Rivers let out a short laugh. "This waterfall is beautiful, isn't it?" he said, "On my side, the bank is high and the shore thin. There's hardly space to fully appreciate it. But from here...from your side...I see it in a whole new light."

River frowned as he watched his supposed mate lean against the desk, this plan had taken way too many complicated turns already, and now he was supposed to believe the mate he was trying to avoid was the Alpha he had came to see? “With the Alpha, yes. And you are?” He enquired, earning him an eye roll from the woman before him. “The Alpha.” She responded coldly. River sighed as he bit down on his lower lip, he couldn’t believe the unfortunate luck he was having right now. “Our mate is an Alpha?” Reid quirked up as he took his eyes off the girl for the first time since she had entered the room. He shot River a bewildered glance as he tried to understand the match.

Before I can understand what is happening, the black wolf has shifted beneath her paws, and I am looking into the eyes of Alpha Andrew. He throws his arms up to shield his face from River’s unwavering affection. “Okay, Okay,” he chuckles. “I am happy to see you too.” River sits back on her hind legs and allows him to stand up. “Oh my goddess,” River purrs as she takes in his naked body in front of us. “Look away!” I squeal at her not wanting this to be the first time I see a man naked. “Speak for yourself,” she growls. “I am going to look at this all day.”
