After I woke up in this timeline I had found it again in the same drawer and left it there, untouched. No one knew about that notebook. Not Chloe. Not Ethan. Not my father. In the original future I had burned it the night before the hearing that took everything from me. I had stood in the kitchen of a rented apartment and watched the pages curl until there was nothing left but ash. It was one of the last private things I destroyed before they locked me away. No one else had been there. No one else could have known. I stared at the message until the screen dimmed, then tapped it bright again.

In front she sees an embedded lock with a key in it. She turns the key to the left to unlock the mysterious strange book. The book gets unlocked but no words were written in any of the pages, just strange ancient scribes. Elena decides to drop her tears at the center of the book. Which wooshed out an energy and the pages begin to flip on it's own turning bright golden. At that point the book drew away from Elena and struck her dead instantly. Elena wakes up after a few moments to find herself in a dark empty void.

I have what we went into the pocket dimension for. But right now, I don't care because I no longer have the one thing that I want the most. I don't have Alec. Memories flash in front of me. Seeing him for the first time. Our kiss on the bluff. Him looking into my eyes as he reached for the coin. The tears burn my cheeks, and I feel at my chest for the necklace he gave me. He's too good of a person. No. Was too good of a person. Because he's dead now, isn't he? Isn't that what the ultimate sacrifice is?

My stomach lurches. “O…kay?” Heather sits up. “You seem messed up. Come sit, and I’ll make tea.” I shake my head, following her instructions anyway. I can’t sit until I stop vibrating. “We had another best friend, Theresa, and—and she doesn’t matter to this story, so I’m going to focus. Cool. Thanks.” I pace behind the back of the couch. “Ryan died. Senior year. Car accident.” I can’t say anything more than that without my whole stomach pushing itself out through my mouth. Even that much burns like acid.

Cassian inquired. "No," Darren replied. "But…" "But what?" Cassian asked quickly. "Well, before that young man died, he was also dancing. According to his mother, it was the same kind of dance Tate did before he died." "Oh?" Cassian's eyes glinted thoughtfully. Darren continued, "Those people who died for no apparent reason all seemed to have danced before their deaths. It's very strange." "It really is strange," Cassian echoed. He'd never heard of anyone dancing right before they died.

She was supposed to be more energetic than that. “Ok princess, I will go and set the traps. Be careful and don’t fall asleep while I’m gone.” She waved her hand absently and buried her head inside her backpack. I’m sure she was looking for one of her books. The girl was obsessed with reading. I checked the perimeter again and set the traps. Then closed my eyes and inhaled deeply, expanding my senses. I heard a bird cry and an animal, a rodent maybe, digging into the ground. The air smelled fresh. There was no decaying smell in the air or stench of decomposing bodies.

"You'll say anything, won't you? "And on top of that, Scarlett was busy working. You're trying to pin this on her? "Are you even human?" Seth chimed in as well. "Exactly. We don't even know if this person actually died or not, and yet he's pulling this stunt to scare everyone."

It was the conversation I had secretly recorded the last time Trinity had come to the estate. I had made sure to fully charge the phone before I died. I wanted Nathan to hear, loud and clear, the true nature of the woman he had chosen, the woman he had been willing to let me die for. A long silence followed. His fingers trembled as he reached for the letter. He pulled out the paper inside and began reading. I had written down every detail of how I had saved him back then, every part of the story that Trinity could never know. The more Nathan read, the redder his eyes became.

It felt like someone was driving nails into my brain, one after another. But I held on. Grabbed the memory and pulled it back into place. It was small. Unimportant. The taste of coffee from when I was alive. But it was mine. I pulled another. And another. Each one hurt worse than the last. A memory of my mother reading to me as a child. My first day of school. The apartment where I'd lived before I died. Bigger memories now. More important ones. My sister Maya. The betrayal. Tanum. The cheating.

“Moreover, the time of death has not exceeded half a day.” Alex was the inheritor of the Ultimate Book of Medicine that had miraculous medical skills, so he could roughly tell the corpse’s condition at a glance. Claudia was a little upset. Alex could tell that it wasn’t simply a day or two that she had known Manny and he should be someone she was well-acquainted with. However, since he died so tragically in front of her, with bulging eyes and a hideous grimace, he must have suffered immense pain before death.
