Books To Fall Asleep To Novels & Stories

Kimmy has been laying in her bed for four hours, just staring up at the ceiling. She could not sleep a wink to save her life. She has tried closing her eyes and trying to force sleep. She has tried counting backward from two thousand. She turned on sleep music and the white noise on her phone, but neither worked. So she layed there memorizing the grain patterns on the wooden logs above her.

I've missed his presence in our room but I've come to turns with him not being able to. I prepared for bed. Had a long bath in my tab, added bubbles, vanilla scented oils to calm me and lit on some candles. I grabbed a book and bottle of wine too and listened to some of my favorite songs. Time went on until I finally got out of the bath. I decided tonight was I night I need to truly relax. Usually I sleep in pajamas but on some special nights when I want maximum comfort, I sleep naked. Tonight was that night. I switched of the light and fell into a deep sleep immediately.

He mumbled under his breath while subconsciously digging his nails into the tiled floor. He finally understood that I wasn't being lazy on purpose. I also wasn't just playing dead or pretending to ignore him just to spite him. I really couldn't help myself. I had only suddenly collapsed during the exam today because of this sleep attack that was clearly written on this medical document. Dad suddenly rose to his feet and pulled open the bottom-most drawer in my desk, where a pair of compasses with dry blood stains and an old, worn diary were hidden in the furthermost corner.

He slammed the door shut. Noah lay on his bed and stared at the ceiling. His room was well furnished and was everything a standard room should be. A large bookshelf was at one end of the room. It was always filled with the latest novels. He stretched his hand a picked the novel on his bedside table. He usually read novels to pass time. He finished one every night and it was replaced with a new one in the morning by the servant. Unknown to anyone, he had insomnia. He seldom slept , hence, he used the novels to pass time. As he took the book, a photo fell out.

Some sleep will surely recharge me. As my breathing starts to slow and even out, Emma's voice makes me snap my eyes open. To my surprise, she's reading aloud from her book, her words soft and gentle. A part of me wants to protest while another part of me wants to hear the story. I silently fume in my seat until the kid in me wins out, and I loosen my muscles and close my eyes again. Emma's soothing voice echoes around the room, and soon enough, I'm drifting off to sleep.

I had a hard time falling asleep. Even though I have taken a warm bath, drinking warm milk and the lights have been turned off, my eyes are still awake. The thick silence made my heart beat wildly. Imagining bad things that might happen to me. I thought I'm getting used to doom. But that seems wrong. I'm not used to it at all.

The room, with its soft hues and the gentle sway of the curtains, became a sanctuary where I could begin to heal and rebuild the shattered pieces of my trust. I took one of the books and settled back into the armchair, the book resting on my lap, ready to lose myself in its pages. But as the minutes turned into hours, a restlessness seeped into my bones, an invisible thread of unease that refused to be ignored. Tiredness tugged at my eyelids, urging me to surrender to the embrace of sleep. Reluctantly, I set the book aside. I slipped beneath the covers, seeking solace within the soft embrace of the blankets, hoping that sleep would bring respite from the tumultuous emotions that still linger

Nothing went wrong, I promise. As I click the send button, I toss the phone to the side and fall back on the bed— that image flashing through my mind again. I know it was all in my head, but it was fucking horrifying to watch. Shaking my mind off the thoughts, I stand from the bed to strip out of my clothes, leaving me with my undergarments. I get on the bed and grab the book by the side, flipping through the pages to distract myself— I'm only able to read the first line before a yawn slips through my parted lips and I drop the book to its spot to give in to the sleepiness.

I put those books back that I don’t like or have read. I look towards ten books placed on the table beside the bed. I will start a new book tomorrow. I fully cover myself with the blanket and close my eyes to sleep. Now because the king is not here so I sleep early. I am sleeping alone after so much time and I love this feeling. Though I miss the king’s warm body against mine, I still like sleeping alone.
