He wrinkled his nose, looking at Jane, "You read this?"
She sneered at him. "Gia read it to me, and I like it."
"Surprise," he muttered ironically under his breath.
"What did you say?"
"Nothing," he grumbled, walking back to the bed and sitting on it. Now he was grateful his parents didn't have daughters, although his father wanted one; these people were pieces of hard work. "Ready?"
She straightened her shoulders and nodded.
He cleared his throat, opened the first page, and began, "On a mysterious island was a little girl. She was very adventurous," he raised a brow, "and her name was Alex...."
