“Sit down,” I groaned, grabbing the contract before he could spill milk all over it.
But Rhea wasn’t laughing. She sank onto the arm of the couch, her gaze sharp. “That’s insane. No normal assistant job pays that much.”
But the paper in my hand didn’t feel fake. It felt binding.
Rhea tilted her head. “What’s the catch?”
I stiffened. My mind flashed back to the line I’d read in the contract, written in neat black ink beneath “Confidentiality Agreement”:
