We sat like that for several minutes, the silence between us heavy but comfortable, a stark contrast to the sharp, violent quiet I shared with Leander.
"Ben says the atmosphere in here has dropped below freezing," Noelle said softly, her voice barely louder than a whisper as she stared out at the city.
"He's afraid to even bring up the morning schedule. What happened, Wren?"
I let out a long, ragged breath, watching my breath fog the glass slightly before it cleared.
