I wrapped my hands around the jagged metal anyway.
My muscles screamed in warning. My vision sparked white at the edges. The poison in my blood flared, silver fire racing through my veins.
I inhaled sharply as I gathered momentum through motivation; for my parents, for my pack, but most of all, for her.
I let out a heart wrenching roar as I lifted the beam with everything in me.
For a terrifying second which felt like hours, she didn’t move.
