Third-person POV Meanwhile, in the ward, Vincenzo sat on the edge of the bed. His hand was clenched tightly in Sofia's grip. She had just let a few fake tears fall, then snuggled closer. "Vincenzo, I'm still a little scared. Can you stay with me a bit longer?" He patted her hand half-heartedly, but his gaze kept drifting toward the window. His mind was consumed by the look of utter despair in Ella's eyes as his men dragged her away.

Fabian roared as he grabbed the bottle of liquor and poured it toward my daughter’s mouth. The glass doors of the hotel suddenly shattered. Several military jeeps rammed inside, followed by more than a dozen police cars, sealing off the entire lobby.

another voice shouts. Smart because I won’t stop. The window is next. Glass explodes outward as I drive my fist through it, shards scattering into the open air below. Everything..... Everything has to break. Because if it doesn’t I will. I turn toward the door, towards the rest of the tower. And I let go. The hallway doesn’t stand a chance. The first pillar cracks under the force of my grip, splitting down the center before collapsing inward. The sound echoes, deep and thunderous.

I wouldn't pick any incoming calls, nor let anyone in on my life.

Stella whispered: “The fourth world.” The First Soul shook her head. “No.” Emily looked at her. “What?” “The fourth world isn't another reality.” The First Soul's voice trembled. “It's what exists after reality ends.” Emily stared. “Nothing?” “No.” She looked at the opening. “Something.” A shape began emerging.

"And you’re the only thing that’s real." I look at the empty space. "Then what am I?" "You’re the architect." "And you’ve built a prison." I look at the wires. I look at the code. "I’m going to break it." I start to pull. The room starts to shake. The code starts to burn. "Aiden, stop!" It’s Liam’s voice. "You’ll kill yourself!" "No," I say. "I’ll just wake up." I pull. The room explodes. And then, I’m in the dark. Waiting for the next take. Forever.

The brother laughed hollowly. “We’ve tested it.” A pause. “We’ve calculated it.” Another pause. “We’ve failed.” The room felt colder. The brother looked toward the window. Toward the darkness beyond. “The damage is already done.” Silence. “The wall between worlds is breaking.” My stomach tightened. Because that sounded familiar. Too familiar. The cracks in the Heart. The door weakening. History repeating itself. The brother swallowed. Then spoke the words that explained everything. “The future it showed me isn’t a lie.”
