It strikes me I may only be called as a witness, but why then mention 'procuring new evidence' in their letter? "Stop overthinking," I whisper to myself. Jovielyn once mentioned a breathing technique that works wonders, and I figure it's worth trying. Just as I'm about to begin my first calming breath, I catch sight of Dean emerging from the sea, every inch the masculine ideal. He's more muscular than ever, having swum against the ocean's current for a solid twenty minutes. His vascularity is unparalleled, a striking contrast to even the most sculpted men, werewolves or not, gracing magazine covers.

It was cute, the way her head tilted slightly as she concentrated, her lips parting just a bit with each exhale. "Like this?" she asked softly, her voice curious and light, seeking affirmation without overplaying it. "Exactly," Silas replied, noticing the gradual relaxation in her posture. "Breath is your foundation in the dark, it centers you, reminds you of control." Once her breathing steadied, he moved to soft touches, exploring boundaries with utmost care.

She only but smiles and joins me by my side… And in one… two… three… CRASH We go head-on into the group of Demons… With my hand snapping from left to right through the air, I slice at the bodies of the Demons. Stabbing not once but twice, jabbing into their chest, cracking through bone, and driving with force until they all, one by one, go up into a smoke of dust. Stepping each foot ahead of the other, we make our way into the group that is now starting to grow…

And Kyra, on the other hand, has Cael as her partner and she has the technique to beat the opponent. Cael pulled out his boomerang and attached it to Kyra’s extended dagger. Kyra made a quick punch and kick, then she suddenly grabbed Cael by both legs and threw her closer to the opponent. Kyra is good at balancing, so with each kick, the demon can stab her weapon into it until she injures its entire body. Cael quickly approached and made powerful kicks and punches until the demon could not recover and, in a flash, Cael buried his claws in the demon’s chest, and from his hand inside, he pulled the heart. He also pressed hard until it crushed and the demon turned to ashes.

I staggered back, clutching my chest, vision flashing violet at the edges. Mother gasped. “Ivy…Calm down, stop and breathe.” But my breath came jagged, raw. The walls seemed to bend inward, the floor trembled under my feet. Something inside me clawed, desperate to rip free. And then, like a rope thrown to a drowning soul, Damon’s sigil lit up in my mind. That spiral curve, that deliberate breath, the grounding mark he pressed into my skin. I traced it into my palm with shaking fingers, inhaled once, twice, like he had taught me.

Damon stared at her with wide eyes but nodded. Delilah pressed her palms flat against his leg and her whole body went still again, her breathing slowing to nearly nothing. Her jaw tightened and the tendons in her neck stood out and a bead of sweat rolled from her temple to her jaw as she pulled whatever was poisoning him out through her own hands. Damon's face changed in real time. The grey tension drained out of him, color flooding back into his skin as his grip on the grass loosened and his breathing shifted from shallow gasps to deep steady draws.

Chicago's breathing remained at the same steady pace, and he expressed no fear as the four demons pounced towards him. He bolted like an accelerating lightning bolt, striking down one of the demons with his energy blade to begin the brawl. Two of the demons activated an attack from their spiritual energy, using demon arts techniques to send shards of their defeated ally's blood towards Chicago. Chicago sliced down each blood shard with ease, still being mindful to maintain a steady form of breathing to prevent from energy exhaust.

He stalked stealthily closer to his sleeping wife, eyes staring intensely at her unconscious form. He blew on her and her brows scrunched cutely. He lifted a hand, lightly cascading his fingers through her scarlet crown. His wife might not have noticed it but he didn’t need to breathe. That was also why he had no issue swimming in the lake that day. His Lycan breathed, his demon didn’t. He drew his face close to her and breathed in her hypnotizing scent. She began to stir, before blinking blearily at him. “Laylin,” He whispered, leaning closer as he bent further down to her level, letting the name flow in a whisper over her cheeks.

I begin to gasp for air. “What’s wrong, Damian? Can’t seem to breathe? Think of this as a vortex that can simply take your breath away! Just like that girl of yours seems to do. Soon you will run out of air and choke on your last breath! Your lungs have to be burning by now! Not only will Raiden be happy that you’re dead but I get a prize as well! That girl will be mine! I hope she can breathe once my dick is inside her!” He taunts. My fists clench as something takes a hold of me. My breathing evens out as I start to shift into my demon form. A deep roar escapes my chest and the tornado suddenly catches on fire.

He grabbed onto my shoulders and we both locked eyes. "Just breathe Diana," He pursed his lips and inhaled deeply, encouraging me to do the same. I nodded and joined in the same breathing pattern, taking in the oxygen slowly and releasing it at a steady pace. A minute past. I pursed my lips, allowing for more air to escape. My mind solely focused on my breaths. There was silence. My lungs moved steadily to Damian's breathing. Taking in the air. And out. Repeating the same pattern over. Taking in the air.
