When her palm moved to my forehead, my vision swam violently, like my mind was being pulled somewhere I couldn't follow on my own power.
"No," she said suddenly, sharp enough to cut through the haze, and pulled her hand back like she'd been burned.
"No — what?" I demanded, my head still spinning, my knees threatening to buckle beneath me. "What did you see? Tell me."
Her eyes locked onto mine, wide with something that looked disturbingly close to disbelief — an emotion that seemed foreign on a face that carried centuries of secrets.
