“I’m sorry,” I mumbled, feeling embarrassed. “I didn’t mean to ruin everything.”
Ares shook his head, his expression softening. “You didn’t ruin anything,” he said gently. “Let’s get you home.”
I nodded, too exhausted to argue. My legs still felt weak, and as we started to walk, I stumbled. Without a word, Ares knelt in front of me, offering his back.
“Come on,” he said gently but with a firm tone.
